You can use a black or blue sharpie to color your hi vis braid and make it less visible. Most of the strikes your getting on those baits are reaction strikes anyways, and the braid shouldn't have too much of an effect on the bite.

I too think the longer the boom, the better - you keep your gear on each side of the boat farther away from each other, as well as farther away from the prop (for when you have to make that 90 degree turn when some noob cuts you off). You shouldn't be reaching out way over the gunnel to grab the cab...

I know it's not how the cool kids do it, but after my bow mount failed on me while on the water, I learned that trolling works pretty damn well for catching bass. Smallies and Largies.
