Hells Canyon Sturgeon advice!

Post by fish4brains » Wed Aug 01, 2007 3:17 pm

Just got invited for a 2 day Sturgeon/Smallmouth trip up hells canyon in my buddies jet sled for this coming Friday & Saturday . The smallies are a no brainer but the Sturgeon on the other hand. There are 3 of us going and only one has fished for them but not on the Snake. Any helpful advice would be awesome! Thanks everyone!!

Catch a trout, plug cut it and put it on the biggest gear you have. Put it in the deepest hole you can find. You'll know when they take it. Please CR only be very gentle with the fish some are over 100.

Thanks Bodofish. Yeah C&R only and I have the upmost respect for those old fish. I am giddy as a school girl for this trip. Never lived somewhere that had them in fishable numbers. Any other advice would be appreciated, anyone.
Thanks!!
