I have been going through the Voights Creek hatchery escapement reports that would deal with the Puyallup and Carbon River. 2000 to 2007. I was interested in seeing the week by week numbers to see when the runs start and end. I thought I would share this information. The King fall run can start as early as Aug. and run as late as Nov. Steelhead can start as early as Nov. and run to Feb. Coho run as early as Aug and can stop in Jan. but mostly by the beginning of Dec.
I found that the King run has, for the most part, generally increased very slowly with the 2006 being the peak-2007 is down by 160 fish from 2006 so far.
The Silvers have really changed. I created a chart in Excel but it wouldn't post.
In 2000 is the start and the total is for Coho 41,941-2001 total is 34,300-2002 is 48,787-2003 total is 38,596- 2004 ) is 20,723-2005 total is 24,209- 2006 total is 9,575 and 2007 final isn’t in.
Why has the Coho number gone down so much? Could it be the flooding?

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

RE:Puyallup and Carbon Escapement reports
Here are the steelhead stats;
year 2000-steelhead=100, year 2001-SH=112, year 2002-SH=159, year 2003-SH=31, year 2004-SH=71, year 2005-SH=75, year 2006-SH=65.
To get these figures I have to use 2 years but one winter season. That sure doesn't seem like very many.
I caught one already this year so I really know I have been blessed.
