How far upriver can one reasonably go upriver with a 22 foot fiberglass bay boat? I was thinking of trying for some fish on a hide tide. I was thinking I would just use the trolling motor and ride the tide both ways.

No problem to just down from the Pilchuck.
Been fishing next to a guy running a Grady White all through the pink run at just below the Pilchuck, maybe 30 yards below.

I just experienced the lower Snohomish from Rotary to French Creek for the first time yesterday. That stretch between Rotary and the railroad bridge below the Pilchuck is definitely deep enough (10'-40'), but watch for logs, both submerged and floating. There are a few logs and old pilings that stick up even out in the main channel that could ruin your day if you're not paying attention.
