The Upper Yakima near Cle Elum

Post by cobrar543 » Tue Jan 26, 2016 3:49 pm

I have been looking at a piece of property up there. I love the looks of the river, and its right on it. Clear bank but not alot of wading areas what I can see.

Has anyone any experience in this area? Plus's or negatives. I don't think I will pass it up in any case but good reports may make me do it sooner LOL

The upper yakima is frequented by flyfisher folk. the yakima is the only blue ribbon trout stream in washington state. This is the only info i have on it however, as ive never actually fished it. Ive heard it has great trout fishing though.
hi my name is john, and I'm a fishing addict.

I floated it with a guide out of Cle Elum a couple years ago in Sept. Absolutely a beautiful stream and we had a great time! I'd check into any flooding potential of a low bank riverbank property, however.

There is great fishing around the cle elum area. I toss spinners and do very well. If you have a boat or pontoon you will have an amazing day but if you don't hike the john wayne trail. It parallels the river for awhile in certain places and will take you to some amazing stretches of river. Lots of big fish and they are easy to catch if you spend the time to get to the good spots. Take a mountain bike and you can catch 30+ in a day. Good luck.

Looks real nice and it has a tiny house.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
