trolling rods

My last five rods where all xrodz since they decided to defraud quite a few people including me im wondering what are you guys using for trolling. I need to buy another trolling rod doesn't have to be expensive but I don't want cheap either. Anyways id appreciate some info on what you guys use. For the record my favorite trolling rod for macks is a $12 wilderness rod.

What species are you targeting? I really like the 9' ugyl stik big water downrigger rod for blackmouth, silvers, lakers and sockeye. For bigger fish I like the Lamiglass classic glass trolling rods. I have the the medium and heavy versions and use them for larger fish including ocean kings. Neither rod will break the bank, both are durable and I don't see either company defaulting anytime soon. Shakespeare also makes a 7' ultra light trolling ugly stik that is perfect for trout, kokanee and other smaller fish species. It has a light tip and a fairly good backbone, I know a few people who abuse it and use it on the rivers for pinks, it simply won't break.

I'll 2nd the ugly stick. Also I have a Diawa 7'6 Accudepth. Medium/Light action that I like. Light enough to get a good feel with trout and see the strikes when on the downrigger, but sturdy enough for sockeye without feeling like you are horsing the fish in. Good rod at a good price. Only thing I wish was different was if it could be 6 inches shorter, but then again, I am in a kayak.

Kufa makes a kokanee rod, its 8'. 2- 8 line rating and bends like a wet noodle. They are about 50 bucks a piece. With that said I regularly run 20 pound mono and fish it in the salt for coho (no 11" flashers). I've landed everything from perch to Kings on it. Nothing over 20lbs though.
