Has anyone else seen this report?

Is he a member? Anyone know someone who fishes from an inflatable blue kayak?

It's hard to see this happen to anyone, but hits harder when it's one of our own. Let's pray for the best.

Let it serve as a somber reminder to all of us to be careful and know our limits when we are out on the water, whether on a lake, river or in the salt, boating, rafting or wading. I hate to say it, but he was my second acquaintance to have been lost in such an accident within the past two years.

The man described in that article was a coworker of mine. I can still remember speaking to him just the week before about the recent nice weather we had been having.

This is so very sad, and just so hard to wrap my head around.
I really did take a moment of pause when i read the description of his vessel, and wondered.
I had the short pleasure of meeting up with Nick at the Edmonds pier a few months ago. He was a very friendly and eager person to experience all things fishing.
You all know that from the great reports that he had posted so many of.
Im very sorry, JonB. I know you guys shared some great experiences.

This is horrible. He was one of the first on here to offer me advice. His reports were always entertaining and as someone else said you felt like you were there. I was hoping to meet him in the spring for some hike in lake fishing.

Terrible news indeed. He was a great contributor to this website and didn't even know it as he was just having fun and sharing with others. The eagerness of the guys who are out every weekend or day hitting up trout lakes and fishing rivers is inspiring to me. I do rivers during salmon and steel head and typically only lakes for trout in the early spring and summer. I used to fish everything all the time. Have they found him as of yet?

My prayers are with his family, never meet him in person but seemed like a really great guy and I enjoyed his reports.
Please stay safe out there.

When I first read the report, I thought of whorde, but I hoped that it wasn't, and whoever it was would be found safe and sound. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

At this point they have not found him. They found his raft and his hat floating on the lake, they found a net with a living trout entangled in it and still hooked, they found his fishing pole. They found his car in the parking lot, but no sign of him yet.. its looking very grim. At this point its believed that he flipped his raft trying to net a fish. Its quite brutal. He told his family about me a lot and our adventures. and so I'm there during the investigation to answer some questions the family has and to help with the investigation.

Tragic news. Please, in the winter, please wear your life jackets.

Very sad to hear thoughts and prayers out to his family. Kayaks to me are scary got trapped in one upside down.

Holy buckets. I fish that lake as well in my kayak quite a bit in winter. i wear my life vest in winter only. I grew up on Lake Washington and have been thrown in, pushed in, punched into the winter water many times by my brothers. Dang, it's cold. I felt the seize multiple times. Luckily it was shallow and as soon as I could move again, i would level myself and make it back to shore. Winter is simply not a time to play in the water.
