Welcome to the website! Under reports, click "Submit reports" and then put what you posted in after filling out the forms and selecting your area. That's the neatest thing about this place, there are reports that can tell you historically which lake, river has historically held fish during what month and where. So that you'd know what bait has worked when and where you should go etc.
The trick to getting fish at the jetty is to use sand shrimp for bait. Live ones. We dig our own, and go through a lot more than 12 in a days worth of fishing, but we consistently catch way more fish than most everybody that's out there. Also when fishing from the jetty, you want to fish right next to the rocks. Pretty much straight in front of you. A lot of guys are pitching their bait out into the channel, and there's not much but sand out there. The rock fish suspend further out sometimes, but most of the fish are right at yer feet, not six feet out. Look for the spots with big depth changes, the fish hold up there in larger concentrations. I know a few spots that go from 5 to 30 feet real quick and always get nice fish from there, even on the worst fishing days. And when you're using live bait, let the ling take it for a while, especially if it's a greenling. They like to chew on it before they swallow it. We use big circle hooks, and just put tension on the line, and they hook them selves for the most part. But if you're a hook setter, use a big J hook and let 'em chew on it before you yank it to them. Steel leaders too. My aunt lives in westport and I grew up fishing during the summer, so I know how to put blood on the rocks

I just wish I lived a wee bit closer.
