Hi everyone. I just moved to Washington (Port Orchard) from New York and was wondering if any if you knew some lakes or ponds that could be easily fished without a boat. I went to Long Lake state park and it was nice there, but didn't catch anything. Just looking for other types of places like that. I like to fish for bass but just got a new spinning setup that I would like to use for trout among other things. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

How far are you willing to travel? Many of the lakes around here have at least some bank access, but its usually pretty limited because of all the homes. Ive never caught a single fish at Long Lake in the few times Ive tried but others have.
Not too far from you there is some shore access on Kitsap Lake, Square Lake, Horse Shoe Lake, Carney Lake, Wicks Lake (if you're willing to park and walk in about a 1/2 mile) and Wildcat Lake. The further you are willing to drive, the more options you have.
Most of the lakes with state parks or state boat access have at lease some bank access. That might be one way to narrow things down.

Thank you for the info. I'll look into the state access areas and I don't mind driving.

A good weekend trip is the Columbia River. Miles of shoreline and lots of smallmouth! Great place to throw a jerkbait or a tube.
