Finishing up 4th "Trout" Livingston

Post by triehl27 » Sat Sep 08, 2012 2:11 pm

Well I built my first "Trout" Livingston in 2008. Started with a 9' Livingston, decked out with 5 scotty pole holders, Cannon Lake troller down rigger (didn't work well with the linginston), Humingbird Depth Sounder, Ram ount for GPS, both a Gas and Electric motor. Ran it around for a Summer and got a $1500 offer on it without the motors. sold it.

Built a 10' in 09, same basic setup just added chairs, Sold it 2 weeks after i built it for $1500.

Built a 7.5 in 2010 as an actual to sell boat same set up but 2 pole holders and no downrigger and a vertical tackle tray.

last week I started off on yet another. This is a 7' set up for one person, All Scotty, Down rigger, pole holders and Anchor lock. 3 pole vert holder, Humingbird Wide 100 sounder, Ram mount GPS for garmin legend. Without the battery and motor the boat is still under 50 pounds.

I never realized that there was this demand for small lake fishing boats. Livingstons are great for this type of application, stable, lots of room and very sea worhty for a lake. Would I go fishing Kings off point Robinson? No, but Kokanee, trout and bass better beware!

Do you have some photos? I sure would like to see what you're building.
