They had to let water out of the dam. The water level went down quick and they were all over. My uncle said there was people on the shore and in the water with buckets and nets. Crazy cajuns:geek: This is right outside of toledo bend.

If you get a chance to enjoy any seafood from this region DO IT NOW, in years to come the oil spill may have all but wiped out a good amount of this resource.

I woulda been down there with a net for sure!!

Hey RJN Cajun, where about are you from in La.? My wife is from Lafayette. I LOVE IT THERE. We go down at least a couple times a year. My favorite thing is to sit on the bricked-in back porch of this large old Southern home. The cooly is out back behind the house, ( I know you would know what a cooly is):salut: The huge cypress trees have spanish moss hanging from them... water mocassins in the cooly. We order a **** load of boiled crawfish and eat them on the porch with cold beer. Oh man!! fishing for alligator gar, etc.

Enumclaw is long way from the bayou.:chef:

I`m from Lake Charles I just took my parents to the airport this morning. There going down for a month. We usualy go down at least once a year but couldn`t this year. I know the coolys used to swim in em when I was a kid. With the snakes and gators. Couldn`t pay me to now. Enumclaw is a ways from the bayou. My dad`s side lives here and my mom`s lives there. Parents needed a change so we moved here. Wanna move back now but the wife won`t. We order live crawfish and have them floan in here every year and have a crawfish boil. Expensive but well worth it.
