Winter Crab catch record card due - Jan 15.

Post by BentRod » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:38 am

Hey All,
I almost forgot myself, so thought I'd send out a reminder that the winter Dungeness catch record cards are due by Jan. 15. Avoid the $10 fee.

I bet a lot of people will be paying this fee the next time they get their cards. Here's the online report form link:

So here is an interesting fact, if you didn't already know.

I went online to report my winter crab catch record card, opened up my license holder and lo and behold, I couldn't find the catch record card. "How could this be?" I wondered. I keep everything together, so I couldn't have lost it. Checked around the usual spots I store my license. No, nothing there. Dang! #-o Looked on my fishing license and the summer catch record card was listed under the forms I'd received, but not a winter catch record card  .
The next day I called the WDFW and talked to a couple people. The first person told me that if I didn't receive a winter catch record card, then I didn't have to report it. He offered to transfer me to the Catch Record Card Department if I wanted to verify....I did. The nice woman there indeed verified that if you did not receive your winter catch record card, then you do not have to file a report. She even looked up my WILD ID on her system to double check.
So, if you can't find your winter catch record card, check to see if you received it in the first place.
I must have turned mine down at the store when I bought my license :-k , but that was like a year ago and my aging mind only retains important information like the names of all the Disney Princesses and the colors of their dresses because that is what is important to my 3-year-old daughter :colors: :-$ .

I was 2 weeks late in sending mine in. I wrote a apology letter for what good itll do.Oh well if it cost an extra 10 bucks oh well. In the 20 years plus that I have crabbed Ive never been checked or even seen a warden at the launch.Maybe I crab on their donut breaks.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
