Why no biters?

I happen to sneak out with the boat for a couple of hours in the morning this weekend on banks lake. Due to limited time i fished the south end. Fish finder marked fish all over the place. But nothing bit, nothing the whole entire morning. I threw everything, worm harnesses, jerk baits, shrimp, worm...

Re: Quiet trolling motor

The 80" shaft on our boat is set to max depth and will still break the surface if any wave action other than slight wind chop. Unless you're only going to be fishing in smooth water conditions, strongly suggest you follow Minn Kota's advice on shaft length. You start with your bow to water line mea...

Re: Quiet trolling motor

Of course it is all dependent on "how you fish" I've only had experience with the i-pilot but i know some who have went from the i-pilot to the i-pilot link and ill share what i got out from them, as i have also asked the same question of the 2 systems. 1) more memory/storage for spot lock and itrac...

They just updated the plants today (every tuesday and thursday from March thru May). And you are in luck, Lake Ki (snohomish county) was just stocked yesterday. Should be easy pickings...enjoy... Here's a link to just that lake stocking. https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/reports/stocking/trout-plants?lake...

Re: Quiet trolling motor

I suppose ideally a 2 cylinder gas motor and a powerful electric would be great, but starting to sound expensive. Yes it is and even used items are still somewhat expensive. But... One other nice thing about having both is, you could use the electric just to steer and use the kicker to keep ya at s...

Re: Quiet trolling motor

MPM, Yes, there are trade-offs between a kicker and top end electric like the Terrova, but when you wonder about losing power, I’m assuming that are not talking about on your cranking battery to your main gas motor... The Terrova is best setup to be running on 2 separate deep cycle batteries that a...

Re: Quiet trolling motor

From my experience with a 12V 50lb thrust minn kota, it was best used on days where the wind was say...less than 10mph? Especially if you are heading into the wind or into the wind at speeds above 2mph. I had to crank up the power to about a 7 out of 10 on the i pilot. Now if lower speeds were neede...

Re: Bassin @ potholes

I have launched from that location once before, with 3 other boats. It is compacted sand beach. We were happy to be able to launch that far into the dunes, but a 4 wheel drive is absolutely necessary to get your boat back out unless it is a light aluminum one. Mine is a 12' fiberglass and I would n...
