Re: question about livescope power use

I'd preserve your main as it is what will get you home. The current model F150 Yamaha alternator produces 50amps, but don't know how much of that is dedicated to engine.

Thought you had a small generator since you mentioned one. Might check into renting one, it could be an economical solution. [wink]

Re: question about livescope power use

Most small kickers in the 8 - 9.9 range produce 6amps @ WOT (what my 8hp electric start kicker produces). At trolling speeds you might get 1 to maybe 2 amps. Too many variables without knowing what engines, batteries, or an onboard charger (if you have one) to answer the questions. If you've got an ...

Re: Regarding ‘Searching’ members within the site

Quad go to bottom of the page, click on "members", then click on "find a member" then start typing in their name, and you'll see a popup window with member names. I got to "deep" and the 6th name listed is DeepCTim. Click on member's name and it goes to their profile page which gives you option to e...

Re: Question about hook holder?

Interesting idea - but why not just use one of the eye's already on the pole? Some of my poles have a small metal loop down near the real seat for that purpose, but not all of them. You would also need to be careful where you put it or it might fowl the line when casting - depending on the type of ...

Re: New 2020 regs?

They must not have put the link to the new regs before you checked, the 2019 - 2020 regs are now listed under Fishing/Shellfishing and Fishing Regulations - https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations

Lake ID in reports

Not that I want to create work, but is there any way to add the county for the lake in the reports section? For example, there must be close to half a dozen Clear Lakes in WA and with the old report system using what I'd call a list format the county was included. The new format doesn't show county ...

Re: User avatars

Weird, same Firefox version on my laptop as my desktop, avatars display on my laptop but not desktop. One thing I do know, Windows updates at different times between the two so that may be it. No big deal so I'm not going to worry about it. [wink]

Noticed mine wasn't displaying and checked several others and theirs aren't either so thought I'd post it up.

Re: Rufus Woods Walleyes?

If you're serious about searching for walleye you need to be in the upper section of Rufus. Would do best to launch at Seaton Grove and fish the areas Mark mentioned in his report. He's back to Roosevelt now that Porcupine Bay has re-opened. ;-)

Check the reports section, there have been a few walleye reports posted recently but they were at the upper end.

Re: Site Question Not Off Topic

My comments were not in support of any changes, just indicating how I view/read reports, which has been my standard operating procedure here for a very long time. I tailor what I read to what interests me and wouldn't expect changes based on that. [wink]

Re: Site Question Not Off Topic

I have internal filters just like Quad. I skip almost all guide reports as they don't help me as an angler, great for them to drum up business but I'm not interested in that. Of much greater value would be reports from the CUSTOMERS but that doesn't happen. I don't read reports for waters I don't fi...

Re: Banks Lake and the Spokane arm?

Think I recall one just below the island on the arm but too early for them to be "open". Probably won't be until closer to Memorial Day. Haven't launched at Ft. Spokane for over 10yrs so memory is foggy, but, am pretty sure there are pit toilets at top of the hill near the parking area.

Re: Super fast small trout boneless filets

I fillet all my trout, but those in Roosevelt are much larger which also makes it much easier to do. I find a very sharp, flexible fillet knife to be indispensable. [wink]

Curious how you deal with the pin bones...
