Re: 2019 Not Quite Trophy But Still Nice Bass Pictures Gallery

Not a giant, but I was happy to get a nice 4lber on my first bass fishing trip of the year.

Re: Best Ultralight Lures For Small Bass

They’re pretty killer for just about everything. I highly recommend them.

Re: Best Ultralight Lures For Small Bass

I would try a small paddle tail swimbait like a 2" Crappie Dapper from Bass Assassin. They catch bass, trout and panfish really well. Fish it on a small jig like a 1/16oz. I love tiny hard baits on light line in lakes with lots of small bass. Lucky Craft LV-70jr lipless cranks have been killer, but ...

I really need a boat. Hard to cover much water in a float tube :)

Nice I like the sound of that. I’m not used to this bass fishing in November stuff. I like it.

Re: Fall Bass fishing - Fake News!

That sounds more like the fish I’m used to, but for some reason the places I’ve fished, the fish haven’t done what I’ve expected. I was fishing a shallow, dark water lake on Wednesday with a ton of pads. All summer they’ve been up under the pads. They’ve thinned a bit and with water temps still at 5...

Whoops, meant to say when the water is warmer. Hoping they’re still biting as I’m heading out for bass tomorrow.

Re: Fall Bass fishing - Fake News!

I tend to do better in the afternoon when the water is cooler. Suspending jerkbaits are one of my go to baits this time of year. Also try making long casts with light line and small 1/8 or 3/16 oz jig heads and a small swimbait like a Keitech Easy Shiner with a slow retrieve.

I just make all my own jigs and paint them with powder paint. They look nicer and it holds up much better than vinyl paint.

I’m not too worried Thurston and Mason are pretty close and they have lots of opportunities, not to mention Lewis and Pierce if I’m up for a longer drive. I do like catching most anything, though bass are still my favorite for sure. The good thing about the area is there aren’t too many people and i...

Re: UPDATED 9.3.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!

That's good to know there are some in Lake Sylvia. I'm actually moving to Montesano next week and I can practically walk there from our place. I'll definitely check it out (I don't mind catching some of the big trout in there either). That's sadly what I heard about Duck Lake too. I was hoping you'd...

[biggrin] That’s pretty funny stuff. I was happy to discover made to order omelettes at the cafeteria when I moved to day shift. Totally worth losing my differential [biggrin]

Re: UPDATED 9.1.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!

Nice! My wife and I were both offered jobs in Port Angeles before we were offered jobs down around Olympia. One of my main reservations about Clallam was the lack of bass. I’ve always been curious about it. Out of curiosity, where did you get your bass in Grays Harbor? Not a ton of options in this c...

Re: 2018 Not Quite Trophy But Still Nice Bass Pictures Gallery

Seeing as this thread hasn’t seen a post in awhile, I’ll put one up. Caught these last Monday out in the smoke. They weighed in at 5, 4, and 3lbs. The 5 inhaled a knock off of a Grande Bass Airtail Rattler that I made, the 4 on a jig that I made and the 3 on a Picasso Shock Blade.

If it’s too big for your new truck it will likely be too big for me. I just have a little RAV4 so it will probably need to be on the small side. I’m curious about your modifications though.

Re: UPDATED 8.14.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!

I just had a similar conversation with my sister about a disappointing photography outing she took into the Utah mountains where she didn’t get the shots she wanted. Sometimes we get so caught up in our hobbies and put so much pressure on ourselves that we completely forget that it’s supposed to be ...

Re: UPDATED 8.7.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!

You're getting close. I'm impressed. I once had a big goal, though not quite as involved as this one. My goal was to catch 2000 fish in the year 2000. I didn't make it so the next year I tried for 2001 fish in the year 2001. I kept falling maybe 150 fish short until the year 2010 when I got somethin...

Re: Bass fishing in Kitsap County Area

I love the markings on them when they come out of clear water. Sounds like I’ll have to brave the swells in my tube. Luckily I get a lot of weekdays off so that should help.
