Re: Garmin Handheld GPS

I use Garmin express, I think it keeps both the maps and software updated. Do you have it on your computer?

Re: Garmin Handheld GPS

I bought the Oregon 450 4 years ago and it worked fine for a while, now it constantly loses the signal, almost useless as it is so frustrating to use. I was talked into this model by a salesman who claimed it had a stronger transmitter/receiver than the $150.00 model I was looking at. This may or m...

Re: Garmin Handheld GPS

I have had the Oregon 450T for several years. No camera. I picked up high out put rechargeable batteries that work well and last longer. I use it hunting and hiking, I did use it on my boat but now have a chart plotter but I do still take it as a backup on the boat. I also got a windshield mount and...

Re: Choosing a Pedestal

I think you hit it right on the adjustable. I had one on my old boat that had a quick adjust handle. It went from normal seat ht to stand and lean by pushing a handle and allowing it to rise or pushing it down by sitting on it. If you shop around there are a lot of them out there.

Re: do you trailer with canvas up or down

Thanks NorseNW I just ordered the top snapper tool. If it works half as good as they show it will be worth it. Of course on Amazon I just had to order some other stuff for fishing so as not to pay shipping. [biggrin] Right now the canvas is flat on the floor of a spare bedroom. That will have to cha...

Re: do you trailer with canvas up or down

Thanks for all the help. The dealer said it was Ok, and I see other boats on the road with tops up. I wanted to know how it is working for other people. It is nice to see that people with the same or similar boats are not having problems with the tops. I lean toward having it up for local and down o...

do you trailer with canvas up or down

I have a new Hewes 200ET Sea Runner and want to know if most people trailer there boat with the canvas up, or do you have it down and put it up at the water. My old boat I had to have the canvas down, at over 30mph it flapped around too much. I brought this boat home to Puyallup from Mt. Vernon with...

At that price I should have gone custom instead of over the counter.

Re: Thoughts on boat covers

I have had a lot of covers over the years. I don't garage my boat (I wish I could) so my cover is for weather as well as the trips to the east side. The trips to the east are the reason for a lot of covers. I have had covers destroyed on one trip over, and I have had them last a few years (maybe 3 o...

Re: Your favorite net for fishing solo for salmon in a boat?

Knotless nets are advised but not a requirement for salmon. Check page 13 and 102 of the regs. If someone sees it somewhere else please post it. I have both and mostly use the knotless. The hoop on my knotless is a little smaller than I like but I like the net its self. I was using a short handle wi...

I don't think I can make it that day.
Is there someone we can write to show our support of the ramp?
I would love to be able to launch and fish there again.

Re: Point No Point Boat Launch

It is about 1/4 mile before you get to the light house. You can see the parking lot on google earth. So yes it is started.

I would like to come out if I can make it, so please keep us informed.

Re: Downrigger Cable Humming/Improvements

I went to braid on one of my Scotty downriggers a few years ago. I don't recall what brand. I like that it is easy to tie up. No wire crimps. I have had to take off a few feet of wire from a downrigger and re-rig it and braid is much easier. I did have a problem with the line counter being off when ...

Re: Dungeness crab in area 13

go to Reports, drop down select Salt water reports, select Area 13 reports and filter for crab. I know I put a report a few years ago for Nisqually delta. We tried it one time came home with two dungies and some rock. I did not like the tides down there so I have not gone back.

I don't know about away from people, but I know there is some areas on the north side between E Main and where the white flows in that didn't need waders last time I was there.

I have not stayed in a room at Olson's in long time. We normally take the camper. We started staying at Van Riper's a few years ago. Olson's had got so run down. It may be better now. We have used van Riper's rooms and they are clean and nice. We went for two quick trips this year and didn't want to...

I don't see it on the WDFW page of changes. The poster looks like what is in the regs.
