Re: Where to launch prop boat for pinks

Where are you, and are you not wanting to go in the salt? I have fished Vashon, Browns point, and Humpy Hollow http://www.johnssportinggoods.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Map_Humy_Hollow.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; from a 15ft smoker craft Alaskan w a 25. Are you talking about the "closed waters" days? Other than 400 ft from Clark creek, it looks open from 11th st to carbon river. Maybe its just the way I would say it is it is closed on some days.

Re: Moving to Seattle Area....Boat recommendations

Thanks for the info, I thought they may come down some. I just don't know if I can go 40+ for a boat. My 93 -17' smoker is getting old and I would like to move up. It sounds like I fish some of the same areas you do. It is nice to hear that the Phantom is doing well with the way I want to fish. Do y...

Re: Moving to Seattle Area....Boat recommendations

Verle's is where I am getting the price online. They have an offshore 202 for $37,495. I wood think when I was done with 9.9 + controls for it and other little add ons I would want I would be getting close to 50K.

Re: Moving to Seattle Area....Boat recommendations

Just to give you a single price point, we bought our Smokercraft Phantom 202 with Yamaha 115 and a 9.9 Merc 4 stroke, easyloader trailer with surge breaks, etc, new, for around $26K last spring. That was the best deal we could find at the time as far as price per foot of boat. Smokercraft are not t...

Re: Possession limits

I was not trying to start something, I wanted my comment to be a little reminder. You could have been eating the fish and kept to the possession limit. I would say by the law you would have to return to your (I'll call it) "home of record", where you get your mail, to be completely within the law. I...

It has been a few years but, I have done well in 20 to 60 FOW off Potlatch park. If you want to go a ways out just off the flats closer to Union. Good luck.

[quote="Bobber_Dogging_Gal"]or a couple extra unmarked buoys on board. I don't understand why you would need the unmarked buoys. Do you have the extra pots to go with them and are you picking up people you didn't plan on. I mark all my buoys before going out to match the people going with me. If all...

Re: Washington Lake Maps for Lowrance Elite 4 HDI

Go to the Lowrance website click products/Mapping/lake insight pro (or which ever one you want to check)/check if your local waterway is covered/WA. To use the custom mapping on Insight Genesis you only need blank MSD cards for your unit, one for recording an upload and one for each lake or body of ...

Re: What fish finder and electric motor

I use a 55lb for my 17ft Smokercraft Fazer and it weighs a lot more than my 15ft Smokercraft did, and 55 works fine. When I had a 15 ft Alaskan I used two batteries. One in the bow for the trolling motor and one at the stern for fish finder and lights. I think one battery would work if you want to r...

Re: What fish finder and electric motor

What I got is the elite 7 HDI w 83/200, it came with the sun cover and 1 yr Insight Genesis mapping. It was $399 black friday and I missed that and it went up to 450.
I have a lot of hope the mapping will be good for areas like Potholes. Have you used the mapping much or at all?

Re: What fish finder and electric motor

I had a 1990 15ft Smokercraft Alaskan with 25hp Mercury, I put a 36lb Minn kota bow mount powerdrive on it. It had a wired foot control I could run from the back. The electric was for lakes and did fine so if you get a 55lb it would do great. I would not run the elect in the salt. Even salt water se...

Re: Burbot Fishing

I got one last year in May, we were north and west of the island in Lind Coulee. We were fishing for walleye with a slow death and crawler, got out deep (I think 50') making a turn. The next day a woman fishing the same area ask if I knew what kind of fish she had, and it was a burbot. So I would sa...

I cut a sort of diamond shape out 3 x 5 and tied it back in with 4 pieces of cotton cord the size it states in the regs. I don't know that size off the top of my head.

Re: New WDFW warden TV show

I am going to guess that Pacific County is more lax than King County. King County seems to be the strictest county in the state on a lot of things. That does bring up a problem. When hunting you need to know state game law, other state laws, county and city laws. You also have to deal with the knowl...
