RE: 1st Muskies Inc. Chapter in WA.

KUP;
The information you sent me will be on display this evening at several fishing shops here in Spokane. I am going to run some over into Coeur D'Alene Idaho too. Thanks for the package.

MH; I love yellow bucktails too! My favorite at Newman and Curlew lakes. I really like Shumway's little funky chicken spinnerbait too. I have never used a Bobbi bait in all the years I've been buying lures. Which size do you prefer there? I prefer the 7" weighted Suick for my jerkbaits.

RE:Musky on the Fly

I am glad to help out. I'm not the only yahoo on this lake fishing for muskies, I'm sure there are people out there who can do it better. I hope a few more people will respond to the questions so you have more info than mine to consider. In June I start at around 12 ft. and work my way in shallower ...

RE:Beginner - Seeking Knowledge...Want to Learn & Teach

GT876; I'm glad to see your so enthusiastic, and thanks to everyone for chipping in advice. It sounds like Bill and I think alike! White spinnerbaits are always a go-to bait for me. And starting with smaller lures seems to move fish on Silver. I like 3/8 and 1/2 oz spinnerbaits but it's hard to find...

Larry; I would be happy to show you around Silver Lake. My major problem is my schedule. I usually know about 5 minutes before I go fishing that I actually am going. So until we can meet I'll give you a quick run down of my selections for this lake. First off, do you want to go with something univer...

RE:Musky on the Fly

dbk; You should check out washington fly fishing. com. there are several guys there that fly fish for the tigers in Mayfield. One fella is even a guide. I was going to call him and ask about a set-up myself. And like bad esox said, check out the Infisherman's info. They have a few video's that are s...

RE:Female Tiger muskies

BUSTED!! That's actually a small perch, I photo shopped it. Good quality of work though, eh? Yeah, there's a lot of good info out there. After reading a recent posting about cold weather and tigers, I was looking at a Dec/Jan issue of Musky hunter mag. It had an article about catching true muskies, ...

RE:My favorites, the one's that get me bit.

Jay; I fish Silver, Newman and Curlew the most often as I live in liberty Lake; where there are no muskies. I start with Silver and Newman in the second week of April. I fish in 2-5 feet of water on the north ends of these lakes primarily, looking for structure and old or greening weeds that have go...

Female Tiger muskies

Hey guys; I caught a muskie out of Silver Lake, Spokane Co., this weekend that had eggs leaking out of her. I know that biologically the eggs are sterile and could not develope if fertilized by muskie or pike. But has anyone else ever seen this? I always wondered myself if muskies react to the warmi...

RE:1st post for Musky fishing forum...

Don; Yes, I'm sorry to say that muskie died. It was caught on a very hot day in the middle of summer. The fish took a spinnerbait on the drop and was hooked fataly internaly in the gills on her left side. I tried for 30 minutes to revive her but she would not stay down. After 3 releases, she floated...

RE:Teach Me

Musky Hunter magazine did a nice study on the impact on mortality of "stomach hooked" muskies. This is the old meathod that has the fisherman waiting until the bait is swallowed before hook set. They showed this to be a very poor and out dated meathod for fishing any species because of the elevated ...

My favorites, the one's that get me bit.

Well, here it goes. Typically muskie anglers (around here, Spokane) have been reluctant to mention their favorite bait for tricking ole' toothy. It's only my opinion, and no one has to agree but, if we have more successful muskie anglers; then we'll have a larger voice to ask that more lakes be stoc...

Your gear selection for muskies.

Everyone has got a lot of good stuff to report! I thought maybe we could put some of our thoughts about the specifics of our personal rod and reel selections, line type and test used for specific lures and for general purpose in one place. Oh man, I can't wait to see what every one has to say on thi...

RE:Teach Me

When I started off, I went the first year without catching a muskie. So your not alone in your dry spell. I started off by renting some of the In-Fisherman's muskie video's to learn some of the basics of lure presentation and seasonal movements. I've found that our muskies prefer a smaller range of ...

RE:1st post for Musky fishing forum...

Holy cow, that was fast! I posted a request for this yesterday and it's here. That's great, I commend this site's operators for being so resonsive to the anglers. I have only fished Evergreen a few times, I only saw small fish. I'm not really after the little guys but I love catching any musky. I ha...

Add Muskie Fishing forum

Could we muskie anglers PLEASE get a forum? There is virtually no way to communicate among the growing angler population in this area. We have this tremendous opportunity that is completely over looked in our state. It would be great to have every topic and discussion localized in one forum. Instead...
