RE:What kind of fisherman are you?

me, i'm the kinda fisherman that likes to have fun and enjoy the relative solitude and my time outdoors, therefore i stay away from the combat fishing scene. i love salt and river fishing almost as much as i love fishing lakes and i can usually produce as well as the next guy in all three areas. wha...

RE:Good shore fishing lakes?

yep, flowing lake can be good. there is a 'free' dock on the far end or you can pay to go into the park and fish from that dock. you could try blackman's lake in snohomish (hit or miss), there are a few docks there also. there's always gissberg ponds along the west side of I-5 near smokey point in s...

i bought one of these pistols from discount guns in everett a few weeks ago. it was slightly over $400 out the door. i've put 200 rounds through it so far and couldn't be more happy with it's performance. like matt said, accuracy is superb at 20-40 feet for such a small gun. i haven't really played ...

RE:So, how much does it cost to fish these days?

i suppose that if i put down on paper what my recreational endeavors cost me money-wise, it would be discouraging or even depressing. that's why i don't do that, lol. if it's something i want to do, i do my best to make it happen the best i can. for me, at my age, there's no putting a price on somet...

RE:Vehicle break-ins at boat launch

that is a pretty good checklist of things we can all do when we see suspicious acivity. while i've gotten away from carrying 24/7, it is safe to say that i have a piece with me every time i go on an outing. and while i don't like the idea of actually carrying while i'm fishing, i think a display of ...

i would go for the 50# thrust. for years my son in law and myself fished out of a tricked out canoe with a 30# and there were plenty of times i wanted more. we are both a couple of big guys and we fished all over withn that boat. we even fished rufus woods a number of times. definately i would go wi...

thanks for the info matt: this looks like a nice little piece and something that's right up my alley. while i don't carry 24/7 like i used to, it's safe to say that i rarley stray too far from home without one and this looks to be about the perfect size and caliber to meet my needs. you are definate...

i've just gotten into smoking tuna this past 2-3 years, and i have to say i didn't know what i was missing! i've found a mix of cherry and applewood suites my taste best. of course it all depends on your brine too. the plum and grape sounds like it be awesome as well...:clown:

yep. i cut it into pieces about 1"x2" and smoke it for about an hour, depending on ambient temp. sprinkling the pieces with lemon pepper while drying before it goes in the smoker. gives the outside an almost seared texture but still leaves the inside moist and tasty. almost any fish is excellent fre...

for the last couple years i've been smoking tuna while overseas working. like you, i never knew what i was missing til i started smoking it. i've always been a big fan of smoked salmon and trout, but the smoked tuna is off the charts in my book. i like the fact that you can use the simple universal ...

just a bit west of that launch, on the other side of that big outcropping of rocks, where you make the turn south to get into the main body of the lake, looks to be a park or campground of some sort with outbuildings. you have to use the other road to get there, tho. also, at the southwest end of th...
