Re: Anyone messed up by the GPS/Y2K rollover issue?

Some people are reporting success using an external GPS antenna, but others are not having any luck. It seems to be somewhat model and brand dependent.

There is no excuse for this. All the mfg's have known this was coming for decades.

Anyone messed up by the GPS/Y2K rollover issue?

So far Im ok with my Garmin gear, but Ive seen reports from Lowrance, Raymarine, Simrad, and Furuno folks with issues. Some are ok getting a fix, but dates are wrong which messes up tide tables, etc. Others just are dead as far as GPS functions - which means no boat speed, or location. If you are on...

Re: trolling small lakes w/ small boat *tip*

Nice job!! Ive seen over sized commercial and DIY skegs on front mount motors, but this is the first time on a transom mount. The guys who add them up front also claim they allow better handling in wind. Ive been considering adding one to my motor. I agree 100% on keeping the main motor down when tr...

Re: location info

The vast majority of time, I am looking for info on a specific lake. I never feel the need to just search through random hot spots for example or random months to fish or bait to use. I always have a specific lake in mind when I look for hot spots or what ever else. I would prefer to have an obviou...

Re: Post your interesting sonar images

You people need to post some more sonar images, but if you wont, I will :) Here is one I forgot to post from last years trip to Coeur d'Alene. This was taken with sideview as we traveled under the bridge that crosses the entrance to Blue Creek Bay. The bridge supports showed up really well. 07MAY18_...

Re: Grand Drawing to Celebrate the New NWFR Website!

Im trying to boycott or at least cut waaaaay back on my Facebook time - can we post links to reports in this thread or only on the Facebook page?

In the article announcing the contest, it said to post in this thread, but above you say post it on Facebook?

Re: location info

I like the new site appearance just fine, but as long as we are asking for changes, I would vote for having the banner thats at the top of the home page stay there on all the pages. banner.JPG That would save a click or two when switching from Forum view to reports, or other views, etc. Not a big de...

Ah, thanks. I was reading it as saying the rebate amount was based on the card you turned in. That makes it easy.

I think I still have some really old C-Map cards. How much rebate on them?

Re: location info

Thanks Aaron. I agree that finding specific lakes and all the info about that lake does not seem intuitive to me. I always seem to have to spend a lot of time mucking around before I find what Im looking for.

I forgot about the no tax. Another plus.

Yes, the foot pedal is optional and not included. The bluetooth versions will come with the heading sensor that is needed for the 5 ft spot lock.

Re: local shop install Bow Mount Minn K. Terrova

You might ask Brian about the Riptide (salt water) version of the motor you want. Last year, it turned out that the salt water version of our Ulterra was the same price as the fresh water version. We almost never use it in salt, but its nice having the option, and not having to worry about corrosion...

Re: local shop install Bow Mount Minn K. Terrova

If you are still shopping for the motor, charger etc, you wont find any cheaper pricing than from BBG Marine. Give Brian a call. He is required to advertise list price on his website, but he discounts (almost) everything. You just need to call him or email him to get a quote. I have purchased two di...

Re: Lake Tapps launch options

The other launch is actually on the south end of the lake in Allan Yorke Park, but I thought I heard it had closed. IIRC, it was run by the city. There is a Lake Tapps info line I think.
