and I thought I was the only one who attracted the crazies! Whew, glad it isn't just me. I have my own stories to share, but don't have the time or the space to write it all. :) If some of these people were never taught to respect others rights, who knows what else they were not taught....morals? ff...

RE:Newbie Flyfishing

Besides the Elk Hair Caddis, Adams, and Mosquitos are good "Anytime" Eastern Washington flies to have on hand (about size 16). I've consistently fished Adams all my life and they almost always get a rise, but you have to pay attention to the hatch if you really want to get into the thick of it. Try ...

RE:~Post your CLEAN-JOKES here!~

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it. The next day, the kids came back and, one by one, began to tell their stories. There were all the regular types of stuff: spilled milk and pennies saved. But then the teacher r...

I too think 5 is fair. I think it'd be nice to put things in the regs like "only 2 over 16 inches " or something like that, but it'd be hard to regulate.

RE:Trophy Trout Poll question 2

I'll also add that if you take your kids fishing, they want to keep everything they catch. Although you don't have to do this, if they catch 6 fish, but can't keep any of them because none of them are big enough, then they get discouraged really quick. I would think there would have to be some place...

RE:Trophy Trout Poll Question 1

Of course bigger trout would be great, especially native, but the only way they'd (non-trips) be allowed to get that big would be to shut down rivers and lakes to fishing for an extended period of time to give the population a chance to grow. Although I'm not against that in selected areas at certai...

RE:Is Joe's done?

I just came from the Issaquah Joes. What a zoo. The place was packed and I was surprised at the amount of stuff people were buying at only 10 percent off. One guy had three or four tackle boxes and a couple casting rods. I guess if you buy enough stuff, then 10 percent might be worth it. I'll be sto...

............maybe i should just move somewhere else. Maybe you should stay here and run for WA state governor! I was going to stay away from this thread because I don't think politics and fishing buddies mix, but in the end I couldn't help myself. Self admittedly, I have no realistic idea ...

sbm, I grew up in the Tri-Cities. If the water is dark due to the spring runoff, then we always had luck with the darker colors. Beetle spins with black body with chartruse pinstripe or dark blue body with white pinstripe worked well run deep and slow. Any 3" or 4" grub in those colors or a crawdad ...

RE:5,090 trout stocked in Beaver Lake

Thanks for the verification SA, I just finished backing up that thought by looking at the triploid stocking plan. The WDFW states that the avg. weight for the trips to be stocked will be 1.5 lbs. You'll notice on the stocking schedule that many lakes will receive a large number of trout around the 2...

Yep. Go get em tiger. Beaver Lake Mar 25 Rainbow 5,090 2.70 Issaquah Rattlesnake received a generous plant of nearly 10,000. Gotta wait to the opener on that one though... Can someone clue me in on how the ratio works when you are reading about the plantings? Like in the quote above. I see things l...

Well, if they're there, they are slow like many have indicated they would be. #-o Finally had a chance to get on the water Sunday, so went up the Beaver with the brother in law. See my lake report for details. My new "used" fish finder showed a lot of fish on the upper 2/3rds of the lake, but couldn...

DU,
I took a look at the City of Sammamish website and they're predicting to have the improvements (at least to the dock) done by opening fishing weekend. There was a fishing pier there before, which is to be improved, so you do not need a boat.
Here is the link:

I'm with G-man too. I've got a '78 evinrude 4hp. However it is a 50:1. Not knowing anything about outboards when I gotit, I've done a lot of research since and come to some of the same conclusions that G-man stated. One big one is that vintage 2-stroke oil is nothing like the modern 2-stroke oil. Yo...

I haven't been to Pine since they closed the launch down. I was wondering if they were going to get it completed before opening weekend.

RE:Joe's Sport Files for Bankruptcy Protection

IMO, the company's overall quality and service has gone way downhill and if they don't try to change their customer relations image (not their logo), then they're done for. The only thing keeping them afloat is their diversity. I'd rather not see them tank because they are in a convenient location ...

RE:I want to take my son fishing. A little help?

Welcome aboard. I second targeting trout. Green Lake or Beaver Lake are suggested "open, nearby, and accessable" spots. The action is very slow right now, but you might have some luck. If you use worms or lures you might have a shot at a bass or two also. Let us know where you go and how you do in t...

RE:Does anyone fish in Walla Walla? or even Walla Walla country for that matter?

Great fishing options over there. Grew up in the Tri-Cities and have fished all over that area. Trout fishing in the mountian streams (Tucannon, Touchet, Walla Walla, Mill Creek, etc.), bass, catfish, and steelhead fishing down lower in the Walla Walla, and Columbia. Great area, but ebbs and flows o...

:-# I agree with Gonefishing. Unfortunately, this doesn't surprise me at all. I have a Joe's down the street from me and have yet to speak to a Joe's employee who has the slightest idea what they're talking about. The service is horrible and the staff less then helpful. If I know what I need, I will...

Gian, Wow, sounds like a chore, and not positively productive one. Can't say I'm surprised by your findings though. I grew up in the Tri-Cities. Used to hunt out my back door. My Dad and I'd go on overnight fishing trips all along the Columbia, Yakima, and Snake rivers in and throughout southeast Wa...
