Camano Island Searun

Hi All, I'm going up to Camano this weekend for a family gig. I thought about trying for searun cutthroat, but a quick Google says they don't start coming on in the north sound until the end of March. Anyone know if that is the case? Would I just be getting casting practice (which I need) if I tried...

Re: Focus on Fee Increase as a Club Hits Your Head

Here's another tidbit in the bill to SB 5718:
Additionally, the department must consider the public's interest in having food fish available for purchase by consumers.
This is after the "equitable" balance between sport and commercial

Any reviews of the first couple days of the show? I'm thinking about going tomorrow with nothing in particular in mind.

Larry, I think that's a great idea. I often have no idea what I'm looking at so would love advice based on screen shots!

Re: Seattle Boat show

The seminar schedule is posted on the boat show website. I went to both the boat show and sportsmans show last 2 years and the sportsmans show had far more fishing product vendors, as you would expect. Boat show is great for electronics and some good deals on gear.

Re: Letter sent requesting Tribal/WDFW NOF process be open.

Good letter. I generally agree, though this is one of those "be careful what you ask for things." Open to the public won't be limited to just the sport fishermen. I'd imagine our friends at the Wild Fish Conservancy will want to attend as well.

I'm taking my son tonight for the first time. Thoughts on where it may not be too crowded?
Edmonds, shilshole, Seattle?
Thanks!

Hanford/tri-cities

Happy all, I'd like to fish upriver brights this year. I have a 21 foot I/O prop and am a bit worried about the launch situation. Any thoughts on Tri/cities fishing? I don't see a lot of reports from that area of the river. As far as the reach any opinions/advice on launches? I fished with Kyle Jone...

Re: Fishing License Data Breach

Lampwick hit the nail on the head--the only way to protect information is to not collect it in the first place. Every system is vulnerable to attack as we've seen countless times over the past few years. When its just a name and credit card number, there's not a whole lot of longlasting damage. But ...

Re: Recommendations On Boat Covers For Bass Trackers?

It was several years ago. I want to say $275? Under $300 for sure, but not much. The Sunbrella fabric was quite a bit more. I had a fish and ski (which was pretty much a ski boat hull) and it fit perfect except for not being reinforced around the trolling motor mounting plate. It too had many straps...

Re: Recommendations On Boat Covers For Bass Trackers?

For my prior boat, I bought a "semi-custom" cover from Savvy Boater in Portland. At that time they sell Carver and Westland covers in various fabrics. They had two methods 1) the specific boat if they have it in their specs or 2) based on general characteristics--type of boat, length, beam, etc. I b...

Dual Battery Question

Hi All, I'm looking for battery advice. I have a dual battery system for my boat. I need to replace one battery and am thinking of doing both just to be safe. My questions: 1. Opinions on the best batteries on the market? I don't mind paying more for peace of mind and am thinking of AGMs. I've heard...

Re: Idea for fishing next weekend

Lake Roosevelt is an impoundment of the Columbia (behind Grand Coulee). Fishing reports are under Columbia River (#18). From reports here an elsewhere kokanee is still good. While Kokanee is all the rave this year, Roosevelt and Banks are usually good big trout lakes too. I've never fished baker, bu...

Re: Good Perch Lakes

Yes, its open though as with all things WDFW you have to look at several different things to figure it out. Start with the first closure notice Then press release this retracts that http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/jun2416a/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; And that press release then says to l...

Re: Idea for fishing next weekend

I ditto Larry's skepticism on finding a cabin. I'm heading to the Olympic peninsula and couldn't find anything. Winding up staying in Sequim and making drives from there. Depending on what a "few hours" is to you, my #1 would be lake Roosevelt for monster kokanee, but don't know about lodging. You m...

Re: Good Perch Lakes

Hi Bigdaddy, there was just a report on shore fishing, but it didn't say location. You might PM them. Gene Coulon park is a popular spot and ice cream for the kiddos! Barchaser, I've not fished north of 520, but I've seen reports from Juanita point and just offshore from Kenmore. the key for me is f...
