I'm going back to square pots to save space and have a 3-year old SMI Octagon Crab Pot. Has the bait tube in the middle with its own door. One of the wires broke free, but I don't think the critters can get out--it could be repaired. Comes with 120 feet of leaded line and 3-point harness.needs some ...

I'm upgrading some gear and have a Scotty Longarm downrigger for sale. Its the older version with the thinner boom than the current 1 1/4". Its extendable from 36" to 60". Spooled with 200 lb. braid that's about 4 years old so could use a change (I cut off the first 25 or so feet each year). Comes w...

Re: Anybody experienced with the Lawrence Elite 5 TI sonar unit
I used to have (until yesterday) a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. I was generally happy with it. It had two issues: Losing depth at speed (probably not an issue you'll have) and in deeper saltwater (over 150 ft) I never got it dialed in to filter out all the noise. I think the first problem was user error (t...

If that doesn't work out check our rover.com. Its people who board in their homes. You can look through the reviews to check on them. Most also say the max number of dogs they will keep (don't want more than 1 or 2).

Re: No triploids? & very few "jumbo's"?
I view the response as technically accurate, but missing the point. No doubt there has been cost increases since 2011 and I think its correct to say that hunters and anglers did not support the WDFW proposed fee increase. I think the slap in the face came back then when they proposed a 30% increase ...

Re: Member Names
I'd use my real name if I could figure out how to do it--I chose a dorky name when I joined! Bob, can you provide instructions? I've seen this request on other forums--the belief it is leads to fewer abusive posts if people are using their real names. I don't think we have that issue on this site.

Trailers: Bunk v. Roller
Hi All, I pulled the trigger on a new boat (hurray for me). The dealer will be providing the trailer and is recommending an EZ loader roller. I've always had bunk trailers so I'd appreciate your advice. Boat is a 23 foot fiberglass walkaround. Fully loaded it'll be around 6300 pounds. I looked at ot...

Re: Good King County Summer Fisheries
Does it have to be trout and kokanee? Lake Washington and Sammanish perch should be easy to catch in late summer, with a decreased chance of skunking the family. Has the added benefit of seeing the houses of the rich and famous and/or close up of Seahawks training facility. Probably a bit early but ...

Re: Galvanic Corrosion
Hi All, I appreciate all the input and thought I'd give you a report. I took the boat in and the diagnosis was paint failure on the drive rather that corrosion causing paint to bubble. There is the one spot of clear corrosion, but their thought is that it started once the paint came off. A sand/prim...

Re: Galvanic Corrosion
Its a fiberglass boat. I appreciate all the feedback. I'm going to replace the anodes, check the wiring and take it to the shop and will report back what the issue is. I'm just surprised it came on so quickly for a trailered boat that's in the water maybe 30 days a year.

Re: Galvanic Corrosion
Thanks all. This is an aftermarket drive so I suppose it could have been an install issue. Here's some more pics of what I'm dealing with. Now trying to find a decent pro as Larry suggests.

Re: Galvanic Corrosion
Thank you for the information! I'll take some better pics. Any suggestions on someone who I can take this to for a full eval? I'm wondering if my current boat guy did something wrong.

Galvanic Corrosion
Hi All, Now to start, I know I should have addressed this issue when I first spotted it but I didn't. My outdrive is suffering from rather sudden corrosion. I notices a spot last fall, but didn't think anything of it (see first sentence). But this year its pretty bad. The drive is 4 years old. Had n...

Best Crab Pots
At the risk of opening up heated discussion, I'm looking for advice on new crab pots. I have two of the folding square jobbers that are nearing the end of their life. They've been good, but I'm wondering if there is something better. I have one of the "commercial style" round stainless steel pots bu...

Re: Adding registered owner
You'll both need to go down together or have the forms notarized in advance. It's pretty much the same process as if you were selling it to someone else. When I told the wife that she had to make a trip to the DMV, her desire to be on the title went away!

Re: Fishing Lake Roosevelt
Hi Hewsfisher, I too am hitting Roosevelt for the first time on one of the busiest weekends of the year! We're staying at Seven Bays. Is there a decent kokanee fishery in that area or would we have to head downstream? I'm not overly picky in my species but would like to catch one of them. Thanks Gary

Re: Kokanee Tackle Box
Hi Josh and all, I've seen pics of kokanee gear like you mention--dozens of flashers, spinners, etc. 3 or more scents. Going back to 7th grade math, that's like a gazillion combos. How do you figure out what's right for a particular day? I tend to drag something around for at least a half hour befor...
