Re: Spooling Station Contraption
I give the spool and reel to my neighbor and, whalla, it comes back perfect! Never asked what the magic was! No, seriously, thats a real fine looking machine you made. I'm often challenged when re-doing spinning reels and have on occasion ended up with line twist. GREAT JOB!

Info needed for Pickering passage outing
Looks like I'm heading to a stay on Pickering passage next weekend. We will be near the Harstine bridge. Is there any sand dab fishing or fishing of any sort in Pickering Passage. I know a couple of DNR clam beaches, so thats on the list with the expected low tide. Would like to take the grandsons f...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
If I might interject on both your points gentlemen: Cleary, WDFW has made gains in trying to bring the sportsmen into the process of NOF. I, and many others have attended the "Open, public meetings that WDFW puts on. In fact, I have attended them for some time. It was at such a meeting I first becam...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
We just posted an update on the petition. In short, we have had a very interesting meeting with our newest WDFW Commissioner, Barbra Baker and the WDFW Deputy Director, Joe Stohr. The meeting was informative and cordial. It allowed us the opportunity to speak directly to leadership and let them know...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
I will be posting something tomorrow following a scheduled conference call. I'm sorry I haven't been able to post an update recently but we ran into a situation that requires some clarification.

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
There is plenty WDFW can do. What they choose to do is nothing. They are content in allowing an arbitrary designation of Gov't to Gov't stand without challenge or justification. They condone the roadblock to public oversight, and disregard the citizens who have asked to have the fisheries managed in...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
By the way, not trying to start a fight here, we are still in agreement on the basic premis of this thread, but I think we disagree on this one point. Dialog is important. I appreciate your views and your support for the Open Meetings Issue. I guess it will be one of those things that we will have ...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
We agree that the fish and the wildlife need WDFW. However, the resources AND the people NEED WDFW leadership with a backbone and the intestinal fortitude to make the hard decisions. Senator Pearson is a long time advocate for Sportsmen, but more so he is truly concerned about the state of the resou...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
Senator Pearson aims budget bullseye, headed straight for WDFW Leadership! It appears we are not alone in finding the leadership of WDFW lacking. After our meeting with Senator Pearson, we are confident one of the "fixes" he speaks of in his article is the lack of transparency in our North of Falcon...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
First, we want to salute the staff at Tidal Exchange. We all owe them a large Thank You for their untiring efforts to bring the truth to our fisheries. The question at hand is; will the individuals involved be able to act with impunity in this State. The authorities who can do something about this w...

http://centralpt.com/upload/560/Advocacy/19637_201605-20CoManagementPerspective.PDF This was posted by another member elsewhere. Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
Thank you Bay wolf. Were the people from Twin Harbors there too? Did you ever get the numbers on how many salmon the tribes netted last season? No, they weren't able to attend. But we shared with them our conversation and the information. We still haven't been able to get the numbers, but the good ...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
State Senator Pearson Meets With Us. Perry Menchaca Tacoma, WA MAR 14, 2017 — On March 13th, our fight for transparency in the Tribal/North of Falcon meetings was briefed to State Senator Kirk Pearson. Our meeting with Senator Pearson was most encouraging and very up-lifting. As most of you already ...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
The WDFW and Director Unsworth have released a press piece that addresses their position on the secret meetings and how they are in total agreement that they should remain secret. Of course, the Tribes are running the show. They use the Gov't to Gov't tactic to take away the rights of the public and...

Cloud, I would really like to see some pictures of these infractions. Not calling you out, or calling BS. I just could use some "proof" of these violations. We've heard a lot of stories, but very few concert evidence in the way of video or pictures. Please, anybody who see's any such things. Take pi...

Re: Petition for Open WDFW/Tribal NOF Meetings
I find it hypocritical that the Nisqually Tribe see's the Open Public Meetings important enough to create their own OPMA, yet still chooses to disregard the States OPMA and allow transparency in the negotiations. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahU...

Re: WDFW - Projections indicate low coho runs
There is a constant truth that runs the entire length of our fisheries; It is a very emotional issue. There are traditions, wages, jobs, memories, hobbies, lifestyle, and many, many other factors involved that contribute to the passions around our fish. The driving force that will protect our fish a...
