Re: Skagit Sockeye!

Hoping to get up there this weekend. If the bars are not showing yet, is there space on the banks? And does anyone know what time the soccer fields open?

Re: After the flood

Thanks for the info Dale. As of now looks like I will be gone before it opens. But I am planning a day of my trip to stop in Oregon at the Rogue for a day. Then will do a little trout fishing on the Tuolumne river out by Buck Meadows.

Re: Waiting for the thaw

I saw that about 2 weeks ago at keechelus, and my favorite hike is Annette lake and it still looks completely frozen, 2 years ago we were there the last week of march and it was open water.

Thanks David. Not sure when or where we will be going, I will be bank fishing somewhere on Roosevelt in a few weeks, but that trip is primarily to find trout for a friend of mines kids.

Waiting for the thaw

I am looking forward to visiting some favorite high lakes and some new ones. From what reports I have seen most lakes above 3000ft are still iced over.

For Walleye, what is considered an eater? and why?

Never fished for them, never eaten them. Looks like we may go give it a try this year. I see so many reports where they talk about "eaters", and many that release the bigger ones. Is there a big difference from a certain size to the bigger ones in meat quality or something? I haven't read of any siz...

Re: After the flood

I have not heard much about the dam for several weeks, what are they doing about repairing it?
Also is there any fishing in the river June/July time frame? I will be down in Oakdale to visit family and want to do some fishing.

Re: Target practice in the mountains/woods?

There is a decent pit out on the N.fork Snoqualmie, you have to drive about 12-13 miles on the FS road. The pit will be on the right when the road turns left. About the first ten miles is private timber property but the FS road is open to the public, may be hard to get in there in the winter though.

Re: New Smoker

I've been using a masterbuilt for almost a year now, haven't had anything come out bad yet. I just ordered the cold smoke kit. To cold or slow smoke salmon, should I have any temp from the main smoker? How much longer should it take? The salmon I have done so far was at about 160-180 degrees and too...

Re: Green River Muddy

Looking a little more green south of the auburn golf course. The boat launch by auburn black diamond bridge water is mostly green. 6 ft or so vis. Couple guys had a few chum right at the launch. Wish I had time to fish.

Re: Green River Muddy

I've got some time this morning, I plan on driving up the river a ways to see if I can find where it clears and or where the issue starts at. I'll try to report back on here afterwords.

Re: Green River Muddy

There were a few spikes in the level over the weekend, but not huge. I live in Auburn and have not heard of any landslides. Looking at the forecast for this weekend I would expect them to release water the next few days, so it will probably get worse.

Coho, we caught one back in May, our guide told us about the creek and how there are still a few that make it into the lake.

That sounds like a great day. One of these days I will probably get down to one or more of these rivers, just not as sure since my sister is no longer in the area.

Besides perch, what can we target on the south end of the lake, we do not plan to go beyond I-90.

Re: C'mon, man.

I think more of us should start throwing snaggers in the river. A good dunking in december or a good ole fashion @$$ kicking would be quite memorable and would give pause to that behavior. Thats what the kanucks do up here (to a degree). It seems to work pretty good too... I think violence is the a...
