RE:To net or not to net?
Hey everybody, In a fishing report I posted recently, an interesting point was brought up. I don't use a net to land any of the tigers I've caught. In my opinion , having a fish thrash around in a net with exposed treble hooks is just asking for injury to the fish. I get the fish boatside, get a fi...

Blueslide Resort on the Pend Orielle
Just wanted to post that my son and I stayed at the Blueslide Resort in Cusick and had a great time. The sites are not very private at all but we were there for the fishing and our neighbors were great. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. Special thanks to Mike and Laurie, they're the managers...

Mark K and Fish-N-Fool, I just wanted to come back and thank you again for the useful info. We launched at Blueslide and fished near the bible camp in and around the weedbeds and just nailed the pike. I posted a report but wanted to let you guys know how much we appreciate the help in fishing an unf...

P.O.R. slough identification and other ??
Hey everyone, My son and I are finally getting our Pend Orielle pike trip. We've been trying to go for 3 years and every year, something has come up forcing us to postpone. Anyway, after reading a bunch of reports, I'm asking myself, how do I know which slough is which? Are there any maps out there ...

Hey Quad,
There's a store up here in Bellingham called the Pacific Marine Exchange that may have what you're looking for. It's like a boat junkyard/ consignment shop. I think they're closed on Sun. and Mon.
Pacific Marine Exchange
700 W Holly St.
Bellingham, WA 98225

Good luck

It sounds to me like you either married a 5 year old and/or a psycho. I know you're upset about this and I really don't want to be disrespectful but, DUDE, what adult behaves like that?? I'm reading all these responses like, "Don't be selfish", "Cut down on the fishing time", and "Maybe you moved he...

RE:Bottom paint on a trailer boat
It has a good coat of gel-coat? That should be all that's necessary in fresh water. Anti-fouling paint is mostly for barnicals and such in salt water, if I remember correctly. Not going with gel coat, just paint. We just applied the third and final coat of Vinyl Ester resin to it tonight. I need a ...

Bottom paint on a trailer boat
We just finished fiberglassing our wood boat after some much needed repairs. The boat spends 99% of it's life sitting on the trailer. (I know.. I know) Anyway,it's now time to paint and I was wondering if a true"bottom paint" is necessary. It never sees salt water and the longest it sits in fresh wa...

RE:Wanted: Galvanized boat trailer for 16 foot runabout
At first glance it looks totaled, but just by looking at the pics, that trailer can be fixed. The main side beam would need to be straightened, but the tongue and some of the cross members can be replaced with new pieces of galvanized tubing. Find a good fab shop in your area and just bring them pic...

The next time anyone thinks about voting for an oil money republican president, please stop and think about how Bush and Cheney loosen the regulations and safety controls on big oil. They effectivly removed all government control and made it a self regulating industry. The blame for this lays squar...

RE:Which Reel
Shimano, Quantum, and Diawa all make good reels. Whatever brand you choose, make sure it feels comfortable and fits your hand well. You will be making a lot of casts with it and if it doesn't feel right, you'll regret it. I personally prefer a reel with a lower gear ratio (my main reel is a 5.1:1) a...
