Chicken stinks too high heaven in a warm summer. I like horse or rabbit. It takes too many rabbits to produce enough...

I'm getting ready to plant my Snow Peas for this year. Hopefully there wont be any more snow. I usually have them in by Presidents Day.
On a related item. Does anyone raise horses and have compost to get rid of ? I'm in need of some manure this year. I have a pickup and a pitch fork.

Re: What's the best technique this time of year for steelhea
The key to steelheading is patience. If you're not landing fish then there are a few things to check. Sharpen your hooks. Set the hooks before reeling in. Set your drag properly. Did I mention Paitience????

Mitchell 3000
Has anyone heard of the Mitchell 3000? I found one in my gear at Dads house. It looks exactly like a 300 only newer. It came in a nice plastic box with a extra spool. I cleaned up the reel and did some research. It was same as the 300 only it is their first ball bearing reel.

Re: Mitchell 300 (old school version)
I went by my dads house. Hes been in a nursing home in rehab after surgery. I was cleaning out his garage . I found another Mitchell 300 reel with extra spool in a plastic case all in a Mitchell plastic reel box . Dad is like me when it comes to never throw or give gear away. What a great find.

When I jig the bottom I put a small weight at the very bottom on 2# test line. Let the weight hit and get stuck to know where the bottom is. You can lose lots of jigs bottom jigging.
