Small hook? im just curious, do you mean smaller than what you would troll with in sound, cause i do have some that are smaller just, there not trout size you could say. I will be trying my first year at river salmon this year in the duwamish/ green. I have a 7ft medium action pole, and about 80yards of 12lb test on my caster. i got the right stuff for it, spoons(single hook), blue foxs, some corkys, some floaters with yarn. My hunting group is pretty religous on .30-06, great all around gun for deer and elk and never had any issues when using either(other than shooter error) , my cousin shoots a .243 for deer, 300 win mag for elk, my buddy has a .270 for deer 7mm for elk, you can use whatever you feel comfortable with,...

Ive don research on it, definetely a golden trout ive been after one for three years now after i saw one in the pike place market, it was selling for 5 bucks a pound, i have only talked to one guy who caught one, somehwere up in the hills in some pond, he said it was about a 5mile hike to the pond, ...

some little buggers in a dingy were checking ours at redondo, as soon as we would leave a good ways they would come check them, we watched them, two asian guys, didnt speak english and only brought one pot and checked multiple pots, keep an eye out
