Re: 2019 Pike Tally
Sad to say I have not been able to get out and do any pike fishing in the last couple weeks. This weather has all my normal winter Pike waters froze solid!!! Even the P.O. river below Newport is froze from shore to shore and that I have NEVER seen before in my 25 years of fishing it. It is also froz...

Re: Priest Lake Idaho / Flathead Lake Montana guides / camping recommendations
I would have highly recommended Rich Lindsey of www.TheIdahoFisherman.com for a guide. He really knows his stuff on Priest. I defiantly know all the hot spots on the river and creeks in the area, but I don't really want to blow up my spots so Email me at [email protected] and I can let you in on som...

Re: Priest Lake Idaho / Flathead Lake Montana guides / camping recommendations
Are you looking for info to ice fish this time of year or for next spring? Priest has good lake trout if that's what your after and there is a nice campground at Indian Creek State park on the east side of the lake. It has a good boat launch and some good mack spots within a mile or the launch.

You buy a can of peas. You drill a hole in the ice. You place a ring of peas around the hole.,
When the big pike comes up to take a pea.....YOU GRAB HIM!

I agree the future of pike fishing here in the N.W. is looking bright if the game dept. doesn't go and screw it upharleypiker wrote:My goodness, Rick, who needs muskies when we could have an equal self-sustaining fishery of monster pike!!!!
Canada can't produce fat pike like that.

Re: MOre Pike Propoganda??
"An invasive species may not be possessed, imported, purchased, sold, propagated, transported, or released into state waters except as provided in RCW 77.15.253." It does say 'released'. Whether it is from a truck, bucket or caught. Means you are not supposed to put it back. I don't have a dog in t...

Re: MOre Pike Propoganda??
From CDA press; Designating pike a prohibited species requires that anglers kill pike as soon as they are caught, and it makes transporting live pike illegal. This is more out and out lies that F&G dish out. Nowhere does it say in the laws that you have to kill pike that are legally caught and rele...

Re: MOre Pike Propoganda??
Genetic research shows Idaho’s pike population mostly remains in Idaho’s portion of the Pend Oreille River downstream from Sandpoint. This statement is total BS as until this year there was NO Pike population in the river below Sandpoint. The only Pike you could find were up in the Clark Fork Delta...

Genetic analysis should be an exact science, yah? Sure looks like they did an awful lot of sampling to back up their claimed origins. They sure are quick to point the finger at bucket biologists though.... (as usual). Well they are right about that, It was bucket bios at work but not who you would ...

Re: Stripers on the Columbia?
Tnx, that's kind of what I figured that it was BS, I really want to catch one as it's one of the main fish on my "Bucket list". It's a long drive to the delta to catch one, but I think I'm going to do it this year.

Stripers on the Columbia?
Looking at a map of Striped bass native and planted range, I see a section of the Columbia river shaded in. I didn't know there were any stripers in that area. Is this true or B.S. If true how good is the fishing for them?
