Re: Downrigger Weight Snubber Vs bumper
I, too, use Chamberlain releases but am salt water only. [thumbup] No issues with them? The only thing I heard was the first ones produced would bulge (parts corroding) then break. They may have changed how they build them. I will probably be doing some blue water salt fishing in the future so it w...

Re: Downrigger Weight Snubber Vs bumper
I have probably four different types of downrigger releases but have settled on either a rubber band or Chamberlain off of the downrigger. I have read the Chamberlain and salt water do not mix though.

Re: Lost Tennessean
Figure the height of the vessel as well as that may mess things up some. You did not say what the freeboard (water to deck/gunnel) is or how close you can get to the water. Most of the fish you will catch will not be pulled up out of the water using the line so you will need to net them.

Re: 7.5 foot Livingston
I have owned 3 Livingston's. If they were not so heavy I would still have one. I used to bow fish out of them and would stand on the center and gunnel in waves and do fine. They scoot pretty good without much power but I did put an 18HP on one of my 10' ones just to try it and it would skate across ...

Re: Paintball guns for furbags?
Well, according to your initial post, you are losing just a fraction over one fish per year. Sorry you've lost those slabs of meat, but in the grand scheme of things there are better places to put your time and energy - such as bringing awareness to pollution, global warming, poaching, mismanagemen...

Re: Hello, where is everyone?
Ya, quiet time of the year for sure. I 'un-pickled' the boat once this winter and then put it right back. I know I sure didn't feel like getting out in the weather like usual. Not sure why.
Soon. Soon.
Soon. Soon.

Re: Paintball guns for furbags?
Might call your local paint ball gun store to see if they have any used for sale? They may have some suggestions as well. I would use a sling shot and ball bearings or wadd cutters myself as there is less to worry about and simple. No air supply to think about. Wrist Rocket (I have) or a standard 'Y...

I know that area well. It is usually pretty smooth water down there but with the wind? 3 am? Hard to tell what they were thinking, or if they even were...

Re: WDFW Proposal to remove panfish limits on Potholes, Moses, and Banks Lake
Any update on this? I think lifting the limits on panfish would be a very bad idea. It would invite fish hogs from the west side, in droves, to come fill their freezers. Build a wall! Keep them out! It’s all their fault! Let’s see, I have seen residents on the Eastside dump batteries in the pothole...

Glad you wrote that reminder. There have been a couple ‘snarky’ comments I have seen that I have refrained from making ‘snarky’ comments on... Or smarta$$ comments on at least. This is a pleasant, fun site. I for one would like it to stay that way.

Re: Wear a life jacket or don't go
There was a bunch of talk about it over at Bass Boat Central (BBC). Both the angler that lost his life and about the cooling factor of water and PFD’s. Sad deal. Hope some good will come out of it if people will start wearing ADEQUATE water protection. I helped look for two guys that fell out of a c...

Soooo, you guys read and belong to a fishing forum. You gather information that I 'presume' you use to improve your fishing. But once you have 'your' area's and techniques, you won't share or help others doing the same thing... Got it! Seen this sooooo often in my 63 years in hunting, fishing (every...

Re: Sammamish
I am not sure the fish on Lake Wa or Lake Samamish get enough pressure to worry about. There has been a number of days I was out fishing and I was the only boat. AND I have never taken a limit. I don't think the number of fish taken is all that many for the size of the lakes. i guess people should j...
