Re: Bass fishing in Kitsap County Area
Wow I didn’t realize Spencer had such quality smallmouth. Looks like I’ll have to brave the ski boats and give it a try.

Re: UPDATED 7.4.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!
I’m still quite new to the area so I’m learning it myself. I fished Benson about two weeks ago but didn’t catch any of size. I did see a couple of nice ones that looked to be in maybe the 4lb range but they seemed extremely neutral and uninterested in my offerings. There were thousands of extremely ...

Re: UPDATED 7.4.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!
Nahwatzel would have likely been more of the same with the little guys. The last time I went there I caught 147 fish (10 were trout, the rest largemouth), but the big ones were 12-14” and even those weren’t too common. Still fun when you just want a lot of action, but I need to spend some more time ...

Re: Smallmouth lake recommendations
Will do. I think I might wait until fall to go to Tapps. It looks really promising but I hate dealing with ski boats and jet skis. I may give Riffe another shot, I just hate driving all the way down there only to find whitecaps.

Re: Favorite Lake in Washington?
Thanks for the info. Sounds like I’m better off dealing with the wind at Riffe if I want smallmouth. Maybe I’ll have to do a tiger muskie trip sometime though. I used to catch them in Utah and it’s quite the adventure doing it out of a float tube

Re: Big fish in small pond??
I caught a 5.25 a few weeks ago out of a 3 acre pond. If they have what they need they’ll grow.

Re: Cutthroat Stink
I once caught a small wild rainbow out of a small stream in Utah that smelled and tasted like some sort of petroleum product. I kept a couple of small Browns from the same creek that day and they tasted great. Not sure what that was about.

Re: Favorite Lake in Washington?
Is the smallmouth population in Mayfield worth targeting? I was driving past it last night and it looked really nice and calm compared to Riffe.

Swofford Pond Question.
So I’m really interested in trying out Swofford Pond for some largemouth fishing. As a float tube fisherman it looks really appealing. So my questions, so I have better idea of what gear to bring are: what is the water clarity like, and what kind of aquatic vegetation does it have? Knowing those thi...

Re: Smallmouth lake recommendations
American Lake has some good smallmouth fishing . Duck lake is a blast, but that's mostly largemouth. Spencer has good bass fishing as well, but again, mostly largemouth. Thanks for replying. I’ve been very curious about Duck Lake. From the research I’ve done it sounded like it used to be awesome bu...

Smallmouth lake recommendations
I posted this on the lakes section, but in hindsight it was probably better to post it here, so I am. I've been doing quite well for the largemouth around here, but I would really like to get into some decent sized smallmouth. I live in Elma in Grays Harbor and wondered if anyone would be willing to...

Re: Smallmouth lake recommendations
Thanks for replying. Tapps seemed to have the most good fish from what I saw on reports. I work a week on a week off, so weekdays are doable.

Smallmouth lake recommendations
I've been doing quite well for the largemouth around here, but I would really like to get into some decent sized smallmouth. I live in Elma in Grays Harbor and wondered if anyone would be willing to give me some recommendations for places within maybe a 90 minute drive with some quality smallmouth. ...

Re: 2018 Not Quite Trophy But Still Nice Bass Pictures Gallery
Here's a 5.2 I caught on a bait I just made the other day. She took the darker colored one. Choked it in fact, it was way in the back of her mouth. I pulled her out from under a dock with my new Phenix Feather heavy spinning rod I was trying out for the first time today. It passed the test, it handl...

It kind of looks like one of those Roboworm sculpin worm drop shot baits.

Re: The agony of losing "the big one."
Oh yeah, I've lost plenty of big ones. The ones that haunt me the most were the ones I never saw. They were all on fly rods and I played them for a good 5-10 minutes only to have them come unhooked, never even seen, leaving me to wonder what on earth I had been hooked into. I use a net, but I use on...

Re: Stump Lake Access
The thing is I don’t always have the time or money for a big trip. I’ve been in Washington for all of two months and right now I just want to catch some fish on some shorter half day kind of trips. I found some lesser known gems in Utah and Idaho, but that takes some time. While I do travel longer d...

Sylvia looks very pretty and seems like it has some pretty nice trout in it. I will definitely check it out.
