Re: New Boat/Motor thoughts.
I think you would be happy with either, but even when I was young (a long time ago...) I would have preferred the electric start over the 5 extra HP even though it adds another layer with the battery and some electrics. The starter adds some weight though, so the total weight addition between batter...

Re: Mandate Barbless Hooks For Lake Sammamish
If the Koke fishing is in that bad of shape then stop that fishery and see if it recovers. As has been stated I doubt just the fishing for them has caused the problem. Maybe stop all 'commercial' fishing?
The runoff into all the lakes is probably more of a problem.

Re: 2-stroke motors, huh??
Not Hewesfisher but I can answer that. Direct injection. Basically direct fuel injection into the combustion chamber but there are other fuel injection types that show great promise with less expense. The DI injectors are specialized and fairly expensive.

Re: Anyone have a trailer dolly?
You might be able to push against the solid tongue and move it but when you attach the wheels/handle that are not solid to the boat you have introduced a 'movable' connection in between you and the boat. Not sure if it will 'push' the same. It seems like you might loose some stability. Just tossing ...

Re: 2-stroke motors, huh??
I am 'generally' a 2 stroke preference guy with both outboards and motorcycles. BUT, I got my first 4 stroke (used) 7.5 hp outboard a couple years ago for trolling and my wife likes it because it is quieter and does not smell as bad if the wind is wrong. I like it as well, but I am not 'in love' wit...

Best of luck there! It is a bit silly here in ‘Pacific Northwestern California’ at times. Not sure I want to hear how good it is in Arkansas!

Re: Steer It Fishing™ planer bobbers
Bought a set of the colored and the clear ‘Bullet Bobbers’ a number of years ago. Used them a few times. They actually work as advertised. Better in a stiff breeze where you don’t have a lot of blocking structure.

Not sure I will get over there but you run a great site for us NW fishermen. It is also nice to offer 'freebies' to the members! Thanks!

After owning a Port-a- bote for years I would suggest you to take a look and consider it for what you are doing.

"An invasive species may not be possessed, imported, purchased, sold, propagated, transported, or released into state waters except as provided in RCW 77.15.253." It does say 'released'. Whether it is from a truck, bucket or caught. Means you are not supposed to put it back. I don't have a dog in t...

I have wool with the flap and fingerless. I had an issue with the flap getting in the way a couple times so stopped using them. They may work for you though.

Ever since I found out I am 18 percent Asian I have been looking for reasons to take offense at any 'Asian' remarks! :fish: [biggrin] I would try one of those. There is a certain 'snob' factor here in the US about eating things that are commonly eaten in other countries. Insects are one thing that i...

Re: Winter glove recommendations??
Same here with fingerless wool. I tried a number of different types and thicknesses of gloves. Insulated, gortex and not. Then one day I 'rediscovered' a pair of my old wool ones in the bottom of my tackle bin and doubt I will experiment again. They smell like fish and I'll stick my nose in them dur...

Re: boat loader for 12 ft boat
I had one that mounted on the top of our Suburban. It had a roller and rope system and a 12v motor that would reel it up. It worked fine but was kind of a PITA. You will see them on CL once in a while. The motor failed and I continued to use it manually. I had a 200+ LB Livingston at the time. I lat...

It IS funny if you don't let it make you crazy. Like you said, there are a lot of pretty ragged places and vehicles out there. Stuff just rotting into the ground... "Haha" would have been taken well, just to mention it.

Saltwater, Sand And Equipment
Early warning: This will be a bit of a griping session... Spent extended periods fishing the coast from the shore this year for the first time. I have never fished saltwater before. I studied and asked questions locally and read online, watched videos, searched through articles on NFR. NOWHERE did a...
