Re: Officers seize 242 trout, arrest suspected poachers
As for getting the local media to cooperate with suggested stories, maybe someone on this forum could suggest how one would go about to make that happen. Unfortunately, the TV news rooms are looking for live action to cover. Today, one station's big story in Spokane was a shredding drop off point a...

Re: Officers seize 242 trout, arrest suspected poachers
I recently contacted the three TV stations in Spokane, requesting that more news coverage be given to this ever increasing problem. I got a reply email back from Jeff Hite, executive producer at KHQ saying "Thanks for writing and good story idea. I will pass along to our newsroom." It is my hope tha...

Re: Officers seize 242 trout, arrest suspected poachers
I just contacted the WSP and asked about reporting poaching. If you witness poaching in progress, you can call 911 . They will report it to the closest law enforcement office, WSP, Sheriff, Police, etc.. All law enforcement agencies will respond and remain there until WDFW arrives. For other poachin...

Re: Officers seize 242 trout, arrest suspected poachers
I just received a reply from Chris Anderson at WDFW. It is clear that the penalties and fines have to be revised. First, I would like to thank you for taking the time and making the effort to let us know your thoughts. We appreciate it. Your assumption that we all need to work together to address in...

Re: Fish Lake Northern Pike
The scrap fish are totally out of control in that lake. I have fished it on a regular basis for decades and have seen the population of sunfish skyrocket since they killed it off last time (mid 2000's) and planted Tiger Trout in place of Browns and Brooks. The Tiger Trout are not keeping the pan fi...

Re: Officers seize 242 trout, arrest suspected poachers
Nate, that is one of the questions that most people ask. They must be. That is why I would like to see more media coverage of this. It has to be a criminal organization making big money because they wouldn't be doing it just for fun. Think stolen cars>>>chop shop>>>MONEY Spokane is ranked at #4 in t...

Officers seize 242 trout, arrest suspected poachers
I knew that poaching was going on at Lenore, but honestly, not to this magnitude. http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2013/apr/12/officers-seize-242-trout-arrest-suspected-poachers/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I sent the following email to the WDFW Enforcement in Olympia and the Regi...

Re: Korker Chrome or Rivershed BOA
At first I only wanted the Simms Rivershed II felt bottoms but I am a little worried that before I wear them out they will ban felt bottoms in WA. Anyone know if this is a realistic possibility? -BC It doesn't look like it is going to be anytime soon or if at all. http://www.stopans.org/Felt_Bans.h...

Re: Same lake photos appear for all lakes viewed
That's my picture I took of Amber lake last fall. I emailed it to Mike for him to add to the lake page. I first noticed that all the lake photos (any lake) showed Amber's photos shortly after you notified me that the moonlight photo had been posted on the Amber page. At the time, I didn't think anyt...

Re: Homelessnes
There have always been poor people and those who are in need of help. It has been that way since the dawn of time and will continue. Unfortunately, there are also people mixed in with them that work the system. This time of the year should be a time of reflection. Each year at this time I take a lit...

Re: Fish Lake Northern Pike
I recently emailed the WDFW and inquired about the rehab of Fish Lake. The following is their reply.... Marc, Thank you for your inquiry to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). Fish Lake (Spokane County) was rehabilitated on October 22, 2012. Prior to the rehabilitation, WDFW had s...

Re: Discover Pass sales disappoint state parks officials
This has been a thorn in my side since it was initiated. It is nothing more than a money grabbing scam. For years I have ridden my bike along the river in Riverside State Park. The only time you saw a park ranger was if you went to Bowl & Pitcher. They were in the office at the campground. Since thi...

A Blue Ribbon Bike Trail
This summer when the weather turned hot and the fishing slowed, I decided to go check out the Trail of The Coeur d'Alenes Bike Trail in Northern Idaho. I fell in love with it the first mile I rode on it. It is spectacular to say the least. Rated as one of the top 25 trails in the nation, it is easy ...
