Re: A Bait & Release Question On Lake Roosevelt
If you could not keep it you should not have to count it. If I catch a wild king I can not keep I do not have to count it. I understand the intent is to keep the catch and release of unmarked fish down, but how can the WDFW have it both ways.

Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?
Short answer, yes. I think you already figured out that you need a deep cycle. A starting battery is not made to be run down and recharged over and over. I am sure some one else can give you greater details on what to look for. In fact I am sure I have read other threads on batteries on this site.

Re: Catch and ReleaseTrout BAIT fishing
Here is an example of the difficulty in knowing what the rule is. I wanted to see how it is written on releasing wild fish on Lk Roosevelt and I don't see the rule at all in the regs or changes online. Larry I get what you are saying about the impact, can you tell me where to find the rule on releas...

Re: Catch and ReleaseTrout BAIT fishing
If you couldn't have kept it, you should not have to count it. I under stand (don't like it) that you have to release a dead fish, other wise everyone would have fish that were going to die. But counting one you could not keep doesn't fit with the way the reg is written. I would think a judge would ...

Re: Catch and ReleaseTrout BAIT fishing
I think it is a problem all over the state. People don't seem to read and know the regs well enough. Even people who know the bait rule may not know that scent is bait. I will say that some of the regs can be hard to figure out exactly what is right. There have been many long threads proving that. B...

Re: Rife fishing bridge?
Rife has land locked coho. I went down there a few years ago and did well from my boat. The fish were full of worms and even tho people said they were ok to eat we used them for crab bait. So I can't say how they tasted.

Re: Endangered Species Act under attack
They are gutting the EPA and they just voted to allow hunting from airplanes and helicopters and hunting bear cubs, etc. You have me curious about some of what you said. I agree the EPA is being gutted (look at the coal mines now able to dump in rivers). But the hunting laws are state by state, and...

Re: Using live minnows for winter walleye
I know about using only bait from the lake you are fishing. But is it realistic for us in WA to do? How do you legally catch the minnows? In the south (only place I have used minnows) they use a casting net. Would something like a herring jig work and or be legal? Then wouldn't you have to ID each m...

Re: Hunter Orange
All hunters born after January 1, 1972 are required to show proof of hunter education course completion. Muzzle loader hunting doen't have to wear orange. I wear full camo but some muzzle loaders wear orange. A guy I hunted with years ago had the orange camo and WE could not see him on a hill side u...

When I tried it years ago, I used "The Dogfish Cookbook". I thought they did not have any taste at all. It was like eating breading over nothing.

Re: Frozen Steering Cable - How to Fix It?
I was able to remove the rod on mine with a lot of work.If I recall correct I drove it out with a rod and hammer, taking care not to mess up the threads. Then cleaned it out with a gun cleaning brush lubed it up and it worked fine. I also lubed it more ofter after that. I used white lithium grease. O...
