Thanks Quad. I'll check with them. The trip is actually to Chelan, just going to make a side trip to Omak if it's open. Cutts fight a lot better than lakers.

I like your ideas and want to subscribe to your newsletter.

Unfortnately, I hear PETA has already released a statement that they will fight this. Apparently they feel it will threaten puget sound sea kittens (their term for ratfish)

Well written!

Does this lake freeze over? If so, has it thawed yet? I'm going to go after some fatties next weekend.

RE:Cowlitz River/Blue Creek/Barrier Dam

Last week, Tacoma Power recovered 284 winter-run steelhead and one spring Chinook salmon during five days of operation at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.
Those are not very high numbers, but I have seen lower.

Nice Fish! When you're diving down there with them, do they just sit there staring at you hoping you don't see them?

RE:520 boat crash

Now it is being reported that the boat owner is getting a bill for inspection of the bridge and other stuff. In other news Angler turnout is down 40% at this time for lower Columbia river. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/reeltimenorthwest/2014571613_angler_turnout_almost_40_perce.html Is it g...

I'm planning on just bow hunting, largely for the reasons that Wolverine mentioned. No deadline for that right? Just go buy a license and tags whenever?

RE:Camo questions

Well Cabela's selection of Sitka was awful, "we're out of season", even though they had ads up for 'spring turkey' EVERYWHERE. The other places I checked had either bad selection or only $200 to $500 pieces. Not happening. Solution: picked up Cabela's waterproof/breathable top (with hood) and bottom...

RE:Camo questions

I'll definitely check SPORTCO. They don't always have the best price, but they will always price match, which saved me an hour+ drive when I got my bow.

Should also note: Going to be hunting turkey first, and they can see color - so they have one up on me there (colorblind). Hopefully my new bow will even those odds out. :batman:

RE:Camo questions

Thanks you guys, always helpful. I still have a set of old school BDUs and DCUs, but I'm going with Sitka because the craftsmanship is mountaineering style (windproof, breathable, etc.) This is the pattern: http://images.cabelas.com/is/image/cabelas/s7_933195_810_02?rgn=0,0,914,2000&scl=5.2631578947...

Camo questions

I'm considering picking up a set of Sitka camo for hunting in both eastern (northport area) and western WA (capital forest area). Will Sitka Optifade work well in both locations?

What's the cheapest place to find it in the south sound?

Tacoma power has a phone number you can call for launch status and lake levels.

From their website:
For recorded information on river flows, lake levels and boat launch usability, call our Fishing and Recreation line at (888) 502-8690.

Slight piggy-back question: I'm going to be in Northport towards the end of April hunting Turkey. Is the Kokanee and Rainbow fishing good that far up, or should I fish somewhere else on my way back home?

Oh and one other thing. I watched Jens catch a nice 33/34 inch steelie drifting eggs. He definitely didn't floss the fish, but the fish flossed the hell out of his finger! #-o
