Marc,
Yep, I saw the boat and maintenance crew taking care of business! You must have been on the south end. I was on the north end. While generally slow, I got a couple browns and was taught by a couple large rainbows that my knot tying skills need some work! Got a small rainbow too, which is awesome and validated a report of more rainbows being stocked. I attributed the slower day to the bright sun and zero wind on the north side. How did it fish on your end?

Marc - I get a few every time I go down but boy, do I have to work for them. My belief is that these sustained warm temps have put them down. I've never done well on calm, warm days when the lake is flat as glass. It fished so much better this time last year. Good luck on the Yak! Sounds fun, I haven't floated it in 2 years.
Bustin - The aerator will help to an extent, but what you are seeing right now is normal for this lake (and others). Unfortunately, several days of warm weather and very little wind have exemplified the issue. We need a good storm with heavy winds and whitecaps to clear things out! We may have gotten this last night....winds were absolutely howling through ML for several hours as this cold front moved in. But I've yet to see how the lake looks.

This is a theory that I have come up with over the years. I think that a heavy algae bloom affects the fish activity. I have noticed also that when the pine pollen is high and covering the water, the fishing is slow. Possibly the fish react to allergies as we do.
I know that when the pine pollen is heavy, I feel horrible.
When the water clears in a few days, we'll see what happens.
