Ceder River, water level, hints?

i live up north and really dont want to drive into renton afterwork to find out the river is way to high to fish when i know someone from the forums probably drives over the river every day. So what the river looking like?

i have only fished the river once a few years ago and fished from the library downstream and only caught a couple small dinks. i know there are bigger fish and i was looking online at the closures and i have no idea were else i can legally fish or get access to the river. if you know of any spot i can access that would be great. Thanks

Don't know about the water level, but I used to go park at Ron Regis Park. There are some trails to the river there if I remember correctly, and from there you can walk the river up or down. Plan on getting most of your fish on nymphs. Pat's rubber legs was a good one.

Unless there is a major rain storm that lasts for a few days/weeks, the Cedar river will be fishable. The water is tightly controlled at the damn and water is also diverted for use as a residential water supply at Landsberg. Right now it is gin clear and about average flow for this time of year. As for fishing the river itself, all I'll give you is the same as RC. The park has access to trails that go on for quite away to the river. The fish will hold in fast water, especially daylight hours during the summer months. Remember, it's C&R for all trout and selective gear rules. If you need bait for crabbing, you can keep the suckers and squawfish that you catch, they work great.
