Pass Lake lately?

Post by The Quadfather » Thu Aug 27, 2015 5:51 pm

Has anybody fished Pass Lake lately? I know.... warm summer, etc. It has cooled though in the past few weeks.
If you've been and you want to send me a PM, that is fine too. I was thinking of hitting it either early in the AM, or later in the evening. Fishing sinking lines, deep.
I am planning on going in the next week.

I'm game about anytime, just give a shout.

Yeah, I have to remember that, Bodo.
I didn't wind up doing a report, but I can say that there an awful lot of fish showing themselves. Often times jumping only 5' from the float tube. The water had an intense pea soup algae bloom. One of the locals said that it resides mostly in the upper couple feet of the water column, sinking tip line etc. released two small fish, and had a few bites.
We kept it to a short trip as we hit two other spots.
0700 start.. 10:00 PM home i think?

I normally do big white-ish streamers with some flash to mimic the shiners. Always had a good time there. caught a couple 19 20 inch bows, I'd really like to get some of the browns. They're an early morning late in the evening sort of affair. I'm working Sun through Wed and would rather swing a fly most of the time. =)
