Flyfishing help Lake Washington smallmouth/panfish

Post by mattch1 » Mon Jun 04, 2007 7:48 pm

I've fished for smallmouth and panfish about 5 times now from my canoe in Lake Washington. I've heard that the Arboretum and UW areas are the best but haven't gotten even one single bite. I've tried surface and subsurface lures - mostly in the afternoons or evenings. I've tried around docks, lilly pads, interstate. Any suggestions??!?! I can't seem to get a bite anywhere.... does anyone have preferred flies or lures they use? At what depth are the bass/sunnies at this time of year? One thing I haven't tried is bouncing off the bottom because I only have floating line and I'm afraid to get a snag. Thanks!
Matt
