What's your favorite glow flashabou color?

Post by GeryG » Tue Jun 12, 2007 5:54 pm

I just started using glow flashabou this year for a tail on my flies.
Just wondering what colors you fly tiers prefer?
And what other parts you use it on?

I use pearl or rainbow flashabou in all of the tails of my leach and buggers. Additionally, I use it as an underbody for all of my chironomid patterns (under the translucent larva lace). I will cut it up into short lengths (1/8" or so) and put in dubbing for use in hare's ear nymphs. I have used it in the thorax of damsel patterns (3/8 to 1/4") for legs. I find it works well used in the overwing in Doc Spratelys as well.

All in all it is a great material and I find it can add the extra attraction needed to catch fish when my patterns aren't working.

Tight lines!
