float & jigs are the norm but drift fishing and casting spoon/spinners work as well.

I went this morning, it was real slow but I banked one on my first cast and hooked up with another for about five seconds. Hooked both on a spoon, of all things.

+2 I have yet to hook my first "first cast fish"...How is the river shaping up? is it lower now where you can stand without waders?...

tsath- If you fish Reiter on the highway side you can do it without waders. I wouldn't recommend it on the hatchery side though. As for the spoons, I was using the two gold rvrfshr spoons held together by split rings on each end with a crane swivel attached to both split rings and a 2/0 siwash hook. Pretty nifty setup, the two spoons stacked together keeps it down in the zone, and surprisingly maintains a really good action. I helped a guy land a fish the other day and he gave me one of these two spoon rigs to try. Apparently it works.

Fished the hwy side yesterday. No hook ups, not even a bite. Saw 2 guys with their limits on the hatchery side and maybe 3 more guys had 1 fish a piece. Saw 2 jump by us but that's it. Definetly hotter on the hatchery side right now.

I was there friday. started at the cable hole, saw 2 dollies landed in there. I hooked and lost a good fish as it bit me way downstream in my drift. Saw a few fish taken on hatch side of reiter. On fishing the hatch side of reiter ive heard that the gate doesnt open til 6. is there any way to start fishing that side before then?

There is no gate, the cars just line up in front of the sign on the way down there. I don't think there is any legal way to get down and fish that side before 6, but quite frankly, I've caught fish down there at all hours of the day and it isn't necessarily all that good first thing in the morning. A lot of times (especially lately) fishing can be better in the afternoon and evening.

Thanks, I like to be in the habit of getting to the river before first light, do alot of people go down there before 6? or do people obey the rule and show up at 6?

you'll get a couple of guys who go in early, but the vast majority follow the rules. If you get caught you are probably looking at a ticket.

Yes, ticket and from what I've heard it is a pretty hefty one. Trespassing on State land I am guessing.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
