just kidding. :-$

I need to get out and fish more, no way can I I.D. a spot by some distant view of a bridge or shore in the backround of a photo.

If its the hole im thinking of then ive caught a ton of fish there!
Why? You know there are some of us that don't have to broadcast every where we fish. If we wanted to say where we are fishing, we would. Respect that. Geezus.

Nice fish B.

???? Its the cowlitz? The most popular, non-secret river in the state. Ive only been there 3 times and i know the hole just from that picture. A secret little stream on the coast or a nice little pond in a field is a secret. The cowlitz isnt, which is why i figured it wouldnt matter... not like everyones gonna go down to that EXACT spot cause he caught one fish. NOTHING about the cowlitz is a secret. This site is about helping people right? Not posting pictures and NEVER saying where or how you caught it? At least i tell you guys the places i catch a lot of my fish so you can get in on some fish. Ive helped dozens of people this season on this site find steelhead, not just posting pics..

But why call out a spot? Geezus man. I have helped out plenty on this site and it's jackholes like you that will make me leave as well as other regulars who no longer post here. Be proud that you are have a lot of knowledge with rivers. We fish this river way more than you. Like I said not everyone broadcasts every spot they fish. Do you need a medal you know where Brian253 was fishing?? Sounds like you do.

Lol... Jeez man. Funny part is the spot he called out was NOT EVEN CLOSE to where I caught that fish... it was a good guess though beings that I do fish the cow on occasion, I stay away from blue creek though

man this feels like deja vu'. Give it a rest. members have every right to guess a spot based on a picture, and the person that posted has every right to keep it to his/her self. Why make a big deal of it? It's fine to post your opinion but name calling really isn't needed.

You guys really like the movie Ground Hog Day, don't you. (as I get sucked into this repeating loop as well).

A medal? i was just wondering if thats where he was fishing, cause it looks like a place that I have fished in the past. Not trying to sound like i am "all knowing" by guessing... just wondering. Thats all, like i said, nobody's gonna go fish there even if i was right. It looked familiar. I guessed. This site should be about helping others who arent doing well get on some fish, not posting pictures of your slaying and say "from the notellum" leaving them to sit there wishing they could just catch one... Not cool.

Nice fish by the way Brian. Wasnt trying to call out ur spot. It just looked like a place ive fished, thats all.

Some people might benefit from anger management class, you know who you are. Remember sharing is caring, I learned that from watching care bear with my daughter.

Here is my two cents on the whole controversy of calling out a place. If someone has stated that they really don't want it to be known but want to show off their catch I don't see a huge problem with that. It is fishing after all and bragging has always been a part of it. Many people including myself are becoming less inclined to share with everyone where they are fishing and even pictures of fish they have caught because of the rise of pressure on their favorite spots. I am all for helping people, I am not all for telling everyone on the planet a spot I have fished my entire life many times ALONE. I have seen too many areas treated with little to no respect. If there is someone that I know that will treat it with the same respect that I have for so long then I will show them. Telling someone where you caught a fish is not the only way to help them, you can lead a horse to water..... Teaching someone how to read water or explaining techniques will help them more than telling them where a hole is that way they can find their own favorite slot or boil.

I agree with you 100%. But this doesn't have to be a name-calling freak out big deal.

It's really pretty easy. 1) person posts a picture of a nice fish. 2) another person decides to make a guess as to the location, which is a fair question, the person is curious and wants to know. no big deal. 3) first person responds with something like "I'd rather keep it private, just sharing the picture". 4) second person replys "ok, thanks anyway" 5) Mod/Admin don't have to deal with name-calling and people getting all bent out of shape over nothing.

That's it. Simple, no drama, no big deal. :pr: :pl:

I agree with you 100%. Secret spots are important, especially steelheading. The difference, however is i called out the River, not the spot. AND the cowlitz is far from a place you can be fishing "alone". Mike is right. If the response was "Its secret". I would have said, Ok, thats fair.

I admit, I overreacted. It's an unwritten rule to be respectful to someones post not to call a spot/river out in a public forum. I live and die by that. You even see that not only with rivers, but it's like that with bass fisherman too. I am noticing, yes the net is a great tool for picking up info, but it has also made us super lazy. I put in my time. I've spent countless hours learning a river.

I share with guys on here all the time. But I have been burned so I am pretty selective who I share info with. Keep up the good work guys.

Hey slayeroffdahookfishtrapfishingbandit- you my friend have issues. When are you going to learn how to get fish to bite bro?? It's not hard. I'll outfish your method any day bud. Oops. Since you don't fish during the day... I win!! ha ha.
