Never fished steelhead before. Went to O.E. today and asked Richard about gear and techniques to use. I was told nightcrawlers on rivers that aren't known for egg patterns. I bought both eggs and worms. just need to figure out which rivers support these two techniques??

Ok, cool. I picked up a jar of some. One of the locals I recently fished with, raved about them. :cyclopsan

Im confused... Is the skykomish snoqualmie and snohomish all part of the same river system. I looked it up on google maps and it shows roughly the same area for each of those rivers i type in. I also heard the tolt river was pretty good for winter run steelhead???

So what is the game plan for steelheading? Camouflage, and chum eggs?
Where are you going?
Myself I just fish and if I get one all is GOOD. I don't have anything different I do. It may be that I don't really know what I am doing.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I'll be focusing on swinging flies for steelheads this winter. Heading up to Sauk/Skagit one of these weekends for some wild steelies and dolly's. :)

i have a friend who's hopefully taking me out to a spot he says he's caught several wild steelys at. He's a spey guy and me being so damn new to swinging flies, I'll see if I can keep up with him.

Thanks for the warning. never been up there so I'll definitely be watchful.

Hitting the cowlitz for some glowballing. During the day I may try bobber and worm or jig. Ive not tried Bobbers for steelies. I would like to get a few metalheads by years end. My goal is atleast 4. Should be able to do that. But they are the hardest fish to catch in my opinion.
More fish please!

Yay winter steelhead season. Maybe I'll actually land one this year. I'm starting to beileve that I am the worst steelheader in the state of Washington. I'd like it if that would change. I fished all winter and only hooked one...... on the Wallace......

what curado is saying (not to put words in his mouth) is that 16 fish have returned, not that there are 16 differnet runs that return to that hatchery.
