Curlew Lake: And the Winner is.....

Post by dougw » Sun Sep 16, 2012 5:51 pm

Chapter 60 regains possession of the Covertted Golden Bucket!!!!

Curlew is no mystery as to where the fish are. Figuring out how to coax them into biting is the real deal. One fish took Chuck Gades' lure and ended up being the only fish that hit the nets. She was a beautiful 44" tiger. Several 50" class fish were seen as were too many to count in the 38-47" class. We had about 20 people that made the journey to Curlew including about 1/2 of those from the West side. A special thank you goes out to Tammy for convincing her father, Larry Ramsell to join in the fun. Larry made the Journey from Hayward Wisconsin, where he has been a guide for most of his life, has authored numerous books, and is a past president of Muskies Inc, International. Thank you Larry for the insights and for speaking to the group. I wish we had more time to fish with you. This tournamnet will forever be labelled as one of my favorites. Congratulations to Chapter 60! We did it! Let's keep the Golden Bucket now!

Yes, congratulations to Chuck for a beautiful tiger! Tournament was a lot of fun and so well run, as usual!
Now take good care of that Bucket. It will be coming back with us next year... :-"

To the great members of Chapter 60, the Mountain Muskies, congratulations on winning the "Golden Cup"! A job well done on all fronts... Thanks for the hospitality, the good times, and memories.... the food provided by everyone was pretty awesome also at the potluck! Great fun!!

I would also like to thank the National Fishing Hall of Fame, "Muskie Legend" himself, Mr. Larry Ramsell, for making the trip out here to fish with us this year. Larry, came all the way from Hayward Wisconsin! I think Larry had a pretty good time fishing and hanging-out with all the members of chapter's 57 and 60 this year on beautiful Lake Curlew. I know we certainly gained a lot of information by asking our many questions pertaining to muskies when we all got a chance to "pick" Larry's brain for pointers and tips about our beloved Tigers in our Friday night Q&A session... a true highlight of the tourney. This was also a special-time for Larry in that he got to spend some quality time fishing with his daughter and son-in-law over the weekend... Friends, family, and good times for all... does it get any better;)

Thanks to everyone who participated this year in the Muskies, Inc., "Golden-Cup Challunge"....Esoxaganza... It was great to see you all once again.

Here's looking forward to next year and to all those tigers that await us in 2013:)

Tight-lines all...
