When to start fishing mountain reservoirs

Post by cwbraue » Sun Apr 12, 2015 3:58 pm

So, I like fishing in the mountains, and I'm never sure how early I can expect to find fish biting there. It seems to me that in Western Washington they wouldn't be warm enough until probably July. I live in Yakima now and today I tried an early trip to Rimrock with my canoe but didn't catch anything. Last year I caught several fish in Rimrock after the first week in May.

I also want to go the other direction and fish Kachess, Cle Elum or Keechelus, but I don't know when the fish will be willing to bite. Any suggestions?
