Copper

Post by GeryG » Tue Feb 05, 2008 7:22 pm

I started using copper in my home made wedding rings last year. I was under the impression that it was for stained or muddy water. To my suprise it worked great in clear water. Just wondering what success other people had using that color and under what conditions. It seems different shades of copper made a difference to.

They work great in the sunny weather and mixed sun with clouds. I love copper...the only way to go on some lakes I know of.

Copper/Silver/Gold. They all work. I'm a bigger believer in making sure that whatever you are using is at the right depth, and your getting it in front of the fish rather then perfecting the finish of the lure...

They too have worked for me, but then again, so do the shiny chrome wedding rings and then you got the ones with the shiny sticker on the flasher/spinner which work too. Sam's onto something with getting it in front of them, but there are days and lakes where color is just as important as presentation. I've been on lakes where we'd been using three different weddding rings with all three hitting. Then, another day and another lake we were fishing and they only wanted one particular kind of wedding ring color combo. It really is situational.
