Troutkrilla?

Has anyone tried YUM Troutkrilla?

I bought some a few weeks ago but have not tried it yet. I've got lots of bait, but this was on sale for $1.49 and the regular price was $5. How could I resist? The stuff does not smell as offensive as some of the powerbait varieties.

By the way, what kids of "bait-in-a-jar" do you guys prefer? I've got powerbait out the wazoo and have caught fish with most of them. They vary considerably -- especially the smell. Including (but not limited to): Dead fish, dirt, oranges and windex. Troutkrilla smells slightly "fishy", but it's not bad at all. I've got some pale yellow powerbait that will make your eyes water!

Berkley also has a "Gulp" line of paste baits. I wonder why they felt the need to introduce a new brand?

Bait fishing is something I usually don't have the patience for, which is why I haven't tried the new Gulp or Troutkrilla. It can be an effective way to put fish in the pan, but most of the time I catch and release -- especially the dinks. Wedding rings have been killer for small stockers, and 1/16 oz jigs work well on bigger trout.

Hmm... I wonder if adding a little yarn to the hook on a wedding ring, then smearing it with a dab of powerbait would increase strikes? :chef:

I picked some up last summer.I was in a mom'n popp store and its all they had. The trout "stockers" loved it.I only fished with it a few times at the same lake. But it was about the same at catching fish as the powerbait.

I switched to GULP 2 years ago. It will outfish powerbait. My brother and I will fish each in the same colors and leader lengths and the GULP will usually catch 2-1 over the powerbait. GULP actually leaves a oil slick on the water when you cast it the first time.
The downside to GULP- after you remove the seal from the jar you better screw the lid down REAL tight or the next time you pull it out it will be the size of BB's ( GULP nuggets) and rock hard. Not a good thing at $5 a jar.

The new job is OK. Can't say that I'm having a blast, but no job is perfect. It's nice to get paid again!

really? the powereggs were still normal to me, while the gulp eggs were rocks. This was in temps of 25-35 degrees F.
