Ok what you want to do is go to the WDFW homepage. Click on fishing/shell fishing. Then just scroll down until you come to the fish plant section. There is a couple of different categories that make the search really convenient. You can either look up the plantings by week, or you can look up the plants by region. There is also a tripliod planting section and a high lakes section.

FYI very few lakes in the King County area get stocked after April/May....Most around here are put and take lakes so they dump a ton of fish in for the trout opener and then ignore the lakes until next year. Eastside of the state seems like they get routine stocks throughout the year....

You can also just hit the "LINKS" button on the top of this page - there is a link to the WDFW Fish Plant page from there:cheers:

If you want to find out trout stocking in Oregon, just go to the ODFW website and subscribe and they will send you a weekly e-mail update on stocking and fishing reports.

Nope I just remember you talking about swimbaits in the bassing section and you were going to do some research over the winter to see the forage species in various lakes, so I guessed that you were doing just that...

Makes perfect sense to me. Down at Selmac Lake you should see all the guys with swimbaits during stocking week. Everyone is after that 15-pounder that has been spotted. But I have another back-up plan for next spring.

I bet lakes with big 15lbers are stuffed with people...

Imagine all the guys who went out to Lake Dixon in California where the 25lber was caught. I heard that there were like 3 hour waits for the boat launch and it's not a big lake by any means (a couple hundred acres)..I bet there are still guys there throwing big swimbaits to get that big ol largemouth swimming around there....

sounds interesting.

i was actually able to draw a large fish out of the deep with a swim bait. i always check to see what is following the bait, and i just happened to see a 5+ fish swim up from under his cover to take a look at what i had. by that time the bait was already in the boat. once he took a peek and swam a few feet close to us, i saw him swim and go back to where he hides out. i made a mental know, so i know where he lives now.

Believe it or not, it does not get the crowds that you would think. Three of the last four state records (Oregon) came from there so it has history. Most people fish the lake for stocker trout and catfish. By the way the fourth record came from a private pond.
