Ward Lake Thurston County kokanee

Post by Toni » Fri Oct 07, 2016 7:11 am

Ward Lake Thurston county kokanee. WDFW Test fishery ongoing until Oct 31. Needed for sampling Kokanee heads, scales, and measurement.

Kokanee Research
Questions:
1. Do barged fish experience greater survival/higher return to the creel than fish released from boat launch?
2. Do fall plants return to the creel at a higher rate than spring plants?

What we need:
1. Clip Status: adipose fin clip vs. non fin clipped
2. Fork length in millimeters (tip of nose to fork of tail
3. Head: Cut Behind gill plate
4. Scales: 3 from each side (3 rows above lateral line, between dorsal and adipose fin)
5. A fish ID for all samples (i.e. T1, T2,T3 etc.)

I have a picture on a WORD doc but it won't post.

Call James P Losee and he will come and collect the specimens at the lake.

Thanks for the help!
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
