Has anybody had any luck there recently fishing for the trout

Nope. I was there a couple days ago and talked to many people at the launch, including another WDFW officer, and they all confirmed it was SLOW. I fished for 3 hours, trolled a flatfish and bottom fished with a worm...nothing. Give it 6 weeks or so...

Yeah cause i really want to catch one of the trout they put in in decmber cause they didnt really get that many caught for some reason so they should be growing bigger and bigger should make for some good fishing before other lakes open

They were planted in November, not December, and they should become active here in the next few weeks. Like Sam said, he caught his 7 pounder in late February and early March is a great time for catching these fish...those that survived the plant and now are perhaps 6-8 pounds. I would say it is only going to get better out there at Beaver. I'm still focusing on Lake Washington cause it's getting pretty good out there now, but keep at it fishingmachine and you will score a nice Beaver Lake rainbow, well over 3-pounds if you put in the time, and have the patience to try different lures/tactics. yeah i have that same feeling too
i have caught some nice bows out of there
i will probably wait for it too get just a little warmer for the fish
but yeah i have seen some 10 pounders pulled out of there before april

Be patient. Don't expect to find your limit out there. Be happy to get one of those triploids to bite. If you have a boat, fish away from the pressure....

yeah i have a raft with a minn kota motor on it so i will probably troll around the lake till i find the fish

Then your set. The deep hole in the middle (I think it's like 50 feet) should have some fish mulling around down at the bottom of it. I caught my 7lb triploid trolling over it, but was probably only 25 feet deep...

Way down at the other end of the lake by that odd 'Rock' is a good place to fish...also just south of there where that inlet to the second lake is...that's a good little area to anchor and plunk powerbait/worms suspended off the bottom...if your boat is small enough you can go back in there...push the brush aside...there are some huge fish in there...

yeah cuthroat killer i cant remember exactly where that rock is it pretty big
yeah i have a raft
so i could probably make it back into that other lake i heard it is quite cold water and is 50 feet deep in some spots
have u had luck back there for trout

It's on the very far end of the lake away from the launch. You'll see the rock. I bet you can get to that back lake with an inflatable. you might have to push some branches outta the way....

what do u suggest fishing with
is the lake in the way back really deep and cold
how much weight were u using when u caught your 7 pounder

Yeah you can get back there by just pushing those branches and twigs out of the way...I have a 10' Zodiac Zoom inflatible so I just push the brush away and I'm good to go...try trolling flatfishes when it warms up...Sam's a die-hard at this and knows a lot more about Beaver than I do...btw...the rock is completely at the opposite end of the lake. You CAN'T MISS IT. Also, fishing in front of that 'path to the little lake' can be really good as there is some water movement there and the fish can stack up on the bottom. I was there one day and a guy got his limit of 3 pound trout just still fishing with a worm in 20' of water off that little inlet's mouth.

is it only good for trout in that back lake or is there structure for bass to hangout too

Bass, and panfish like perch, too. It's too early for that right now, but come April-May-June, it will get really good. I would go prepared with an arsounel of tackle...plastics, jigs, spoons, flatfishes, hotshots, needlefish, worms, etc.

yeah i have all of that i was thinking about trolling a crawler on a wedding ring for bass, trout and perch as well as trolling like a flatfish or needlefish for trout in that back lake when it warms up
what do u have the best luck on out there cutthroat killer

Best luck at Beaver? I'd say trolling a flatfish or trolling a frog needlefish. Otherwise I still fish with worms and powerbait by those inlets. I'm not a huge fan of Beaver, but some people just love that lake. I would say stick with the worms and wedding ring combo cause you can pick up some nice big fish that way. Also, needlefish and any little spoons work very well in late March.

Back in the 90's when I fished it alot, I found that by anchoring on the outside edges of the deep pockets and casting bait into those pockets produced very well.There are lots of these pockets where it drops down from 10-15ft to 25-30 ft. also if you locate the old creek bed ,its not very wide, the big fish love hanging out there.
