Triploid 2008 stocking schedule

This has been out for a while but I figure I'd post a topic about it to let anyone know who hasn't checked the WDFW website, or couldn't find it on their site....

Only 250 for Beaver Lake in King. I wonder how many of the little stockers they plan to put in there this year? I wonder if Pine will get 20,000 like years past? Pine gets a ton of pressure. I just hope they stock Margaret with a good amount of fish...plus the native cutt population in that little lake is doing well!

Pine seems to get more and more every year...I'd be willing to bet they match the 20k they recieved last year. Pine does get a ton of pressure but it's a huge source of income for the area's tackle shops and the WDFW. As is Beaver lake. Issy (GI) Joes is just choked full of people buying trout rods and powerbait during the spring. Of course they need to buy a license too. These lakes are right near Seattle and the eastside (Bellevue, Kirkland) and are right in the middle of the Plateau....Brings in a lot of pressure and thus income for tackle shops, gas stations, WDFW....

The triploid stock is down 64% from last year. The thing that I dont understand is they are planting steelicoom in lakewood with trips this year. The lake is a very shallow bass lake. And the lake they arnt going to plant with trips in peirce county is Wapato..... a juvinile only lake, poor kids.

I'm not too worried about it. I'm after last years triploids and any remaining holdovers or trips from even previous years....

i wish they would not put the trips in klineline pond, and maybe put them in lacamas lake, at least it gets to a depth of 60 feet instead of maybe 20 at klineline and its about . klineline gets fished out so fast with the huge russian population we have fishing it. its only fishable for a couple months until the swimmers swamp the place. i dont think they could survive until the next season because most trout in here get caught within the first month they are in here.
the most dumb trout in washington are dumped into klineline.

Check out this months issue of Washington-Oregon Game and Fish Magazine. It is plumb full of trout info., including stocking reports. The whole issue is dedicated to trout.

Since they made Pine a hand-launch only it actually has much less pressure. A great Opening Day lake, one I've made a habit of going to for many years. Talk about good memories. :-)

I should clarify, it's getting more and more pressure every year since they made it cartopper and hand launch only.....I think people were tired of seeing 20 foot boats trying to be launched in that skinny launch and making that lake a zoo...
Definitely a much better lake now for someone who can hand launch now...Much less boat traffic...

Thanks fishnislife, I will have to pick that up. F&H news is like that too and they said next issue is the kick off for the 2008 trout opener.

It's no big deal, in my opinion. They constitute such a small percentage of the total statewide plant and are usually planted in "put and take lakes" where they are almost always harvested upon being caught. Can you say overrated? I fish dozens of lakes and rivers that are devoid of triploids and still catch lots of large fish, whether rainbow, brook, brown or lahontan cutthroat.

if the lake is not put and take so much you can hook into some monster trips. i am not saying the regular planters dont get big but trips do it so fast and effective they are so fun to fish for!
